I also want to try imax for 3D effect. But seems 愛熊貓 is a 2D film...

Brought Kv to watch Harry Potter at IFC last night. The film is not really scarry, but a bit long.... 139mins

Had wanted to buy the 7 schoolbag,
at least try it on piglet,
but
no $ in May,

no time in June,
not in HK in July.
And piglet is simply not interested in buying schoolbag.
He only wants to buy toys !

The SPI is really heavy, and lasted for 2y already.
Now some small parts are broken (fair wear and tear).

And we need a red bag (school requirement),
of course without Hello Kitty and not one for girls.

Our textbooks for Term 1 is already ~$1100, plus a few not yet available, ==> ~$1350 total.

I placed order with Comm Press for Kv's P1 text book (~$1.5K) and ordered eng books thru' his school (from Australia, ~$350), and bought school uniform at Kingkow (~$700)..... $$ flies!!!

btw, want to know whether you will 包書 for piglet's text books?

Yes, need to bau shu for all books,
and also to wrap the corners with cellotape first
then cover with plastic transparent bookwrap.
The bookshop their school recommenmds is in Kln City haha, and can buy a set of plastic bookwrap which fit all books at ~$2x per set when we buy the textbooks. I bought 2 sets of plastick bookwrap this time.
For ex books, I just wrap the corners with cellotape.

Piglet is very heavy-handed with all his textbooks and ex books, will easily bend cover / corners. Even with wrapped corners and bookwrap he tries to tear (meet) the plastic bookwrap ga.

Prize winning nano SPI Poly schoolbag
- nano tech is not of any help in this. Just gimmick.
And SPI / Dr K bags are sooooo dxxx heavy.
Even given piglet's weight, it is still vvv heavy.
If poss I will avoid Dr K / Sanrio / Lego / Chiropak / SPI bags. You know how much I hate sales gimmick !!
Piglet always says he wants a Ferarri schoolbag !!

And I bought 2 smaller bags with zip from Jusco, Thomas bags, sort of polyester / plastic. This is for PE / swimming, and ECA (western percussion = drum pad).
So piglet sometimes has to use schoolbag backpack, plus a small bag in hand.

Also if Kv is having lunch in school, need a plastic place-mat ga. Useful irrespective of whether order lunchbox or bring lunch to school.
Need to ask bun-bun to prepare : utensils for lunch, wet towel in box, wet tissue, tempo - everyday.
O you need to buy all sorts of things for P1.

For visual art lessons we need 24-colours wooden colour pencils, plus oil pastel, plus scissors, glue, apron and sleeves, and a plastic sheet / mat.

Just read BS's recommendations on the plastic placemats for having lunch at school. When my girl was in P1, a plastic placemat was given for each girl. However, she seldom brought it home to wash and it was not hygenic. So, I bought some cotton placemats from IKEA for her. One everyday. Because they are foldable and light, she can manage herself well and bring home to wash everyday. So, you may consider.

I am interested in the ready-to-use bookwraps available in Kln City. Would you give me the name and address of that bookshop? I have to wrap the books for 2 kids. So, ready-to-use bookwraps will help me a lot.

We bought all the books at Ching Kung Bookstore HK$1,3xx withl plastic cover wrap provided for each books.

I heard from the parents that they need to bring a plastic mat for lunch.....where can we buy it ?

How about dymo tape ? is it necessary to print their name and stick to the book cover ?

Bookshop in Kln City = Wai Fai

But if you go there and ask, they mayl say they don't have such an item ga I think.

Becos Wai Fat is the reliable supplier of textbooks for our school (with good discount), they provide v good service - prepare a whole set of plastic bookwraps which just fit the textbooks of each class. Then we decide either buy or not buy, when we buy textbooks.

There are many diff sizes of such plastic wraps, if you buy from other bookshops, ~$4@, e.g. from the Kwong Nga stationery supplies also in Kln City. But Wai Fat only charges us ~$2@ ja.
I have seen some in Popular. But only 1 or 2 sizes.

Re : Plastic place mats

In Piglet's school, there is a tap and sink in every classroom, and all kids (incl P1) are asked to "clean" their own placemats everyday under the sink (of course still messy), and we ask piglet to bring the placemat home for thorough washing every Friday.

Plastic placemat
- you can find this everywhere ga woh,
eg Jusco $10 for Hello Kitty / ShinKanSen,
家品點eg 日本城
or those laminated A4 sheets.

Name on book cover
- Of course you can write the name on,
or use some name-labels eg Dymo.
Then wrap with plastic bookcover.

I ask big pig to print a sheet of names on sticky label then laminate 冷裱 top side and cut out, = sticky label.

You need quite a lot of name labels.

For all uniform and undies and socks,
and water bottle,
I also ask yanyan to sew / tie on name-printed cloth-labels.
The kids really may lose their undies and socks ga, if they need to change into PE uniform / swim suits.

Need to write name INSIDE shoes tim ga.
But find somewhere where the ink won't come off and ruin the socks.

Re: plastic mat for lunch, how about the idea of cutting the white thin platic wrap we normally used at home into desk size and Kv can just simply throw away after use?

Actually before getting into the cinema, my son said he would be scared.. but anyway he still enjoyed the film thereafter!!

btw, I think watching film will have +ve effect on reading books of same title if they kids enjoy the film.

You may also try this one.

The ready-bookwraps only contain 2 per bag ga ja.
You had better bring your books along to determine how many of each size you need.
