I type English 'cos it's faster. We visited Dr Alex Doo in Central last Monday about IVF. Problem is my husband will be away for 10 months from August 'til June next year. So should I try to get my IVF started before he leaves HK or wait 'til he returns? Dr Doo told us they could freeze his semen but the result may not be good as the quality is already not so good. I'm getting worried as I just turned 39 and will be 40 next year... Also Dr Doo is expensive and I do not want to waste $$ and time. I have made an appointment with Dr Lok Hung at 養和 on 10 June. Should I get a second opinion? very frustrated about what to do...

用中文寫多次,希望有JM可给意见。我同先生上星期一见了Dr Alex Doo有关IVF。问题是我老公将会在8月离港一段时间到下年6月。我正苦恼应否在他离港前开始IVF还是等到下年。因我已39，下年就40。Dr Doo 话可冷凍我老公的精子进行IVF，但效果可能欠佳,因形态不好。我不想浪费金钱同时间。我知道Dr Doo收费扁贵。我6月10日约了养和骆红医生，应赴約吗？还是一心一意找Dr Doo尽快开始IVF？

Hi indeed i'm also new to IVF so I'm not sure if my comment is helpful or not.
What will be your cycle day appromixately when you first visit Dr. Lok Hung on 10 June? if it is close to your cycle start day, you can wait till then so that you can start the IVF procedures immediately in June while your husband is still in Hong Kong. I recommend Dr. Lok Hung as I heard many success cases but Dr. Doo relatively fewer cases mentioned.
For my case, I just knew that I need to do IVF in April (just finished my period) and then I started immediately in May.
You know, time is very precious for women who are hoping for baby. Hope this helps!

Thanks for your comment - it does help. My next cycle should start around mid-June, a week before I see Dr Lok so I may just wait 'til then. BTW which doctor r u seeing? are you waiting for the embryo transfer or?

This IVF and the situation are all getting a bit stressful for me.

Hi Koalange, indeed the best scenario is for you to attend doctor on day 2 of your cycle day so that you can do all the necessary tests (blood test, your husband's sperm test) and then start the injection immediately. If you visit the doctor after the period, you have to wait for the next cycle which is in July. But if your husband is still in HK in July, that will be ok too. Even if you cannot do fresh embryo transfer but you can still do FET in the following month (even though your husband is away).
I just finished 8th injection, one more injection tonight then I will do the eggs extract. Hope your dream can come true soon.

我都係高龄，很清楚時間唔等人，何况錢可賺得返，時間赚唔返，所以可以的話就盡早開始ivf吧. 若你較喜歡Dr Doo, 不防同時在他哪兒雪丁作保險，若到時你想轉e生或追多個，也不用等c6回來才開始嘛。

Thanks all. maggie, I'm not sure what you mean by cycle. I just had my period so and I'm seeing Dr Lok BEFORE my next period. I see her on 10 June and my next period should be around 18 June. This means there is still chance that I can start injections in June?

通常M 到第二OR三日開針, 咁如果你6月18日先M, 6月10日見DR LOK, 咁應該剛好~
我睇BK 都見到DR DOO 幾好, 只係DR LOK,= 再POPULAR D ~ 你而家都已M 中 OR 就完, 都趕唔到今個月開針, 咁你仲可以CHOOSE FROM DR LOK OR DR DOO. Hope this helps!
