Owing to the economic turnoil and sluggish property market since 1997 whilst opposed by the various property enterprises, the Government has suspended the selling of Home Ownership Scheme since 2002. Therefore, Hong Kong citizens could not apply for HOS currently until further notice from the Government, hopefully until 2006 when the suspension is to be released.
