I put my daughter on the highchair facing the tv when I cut her hair. She doesn't have a lot of hair either and I find cutting it when dry is easier. The result is also more layered and natural
I didn't get special scissors, just the ones I use for the kitchen (long blades and not pointy) cos it's sharp but without pointy tip.
