Last year I also had this question in my mind, whether to give birth in private or government hospital...and I visited my 婦產科醫生, she suggested us to go to government hospital.....because my hubby and I are 醫護人士, 我既婦產科醫生就話我知,大家係同行先講,生仔其實係兩條命喺醫生手上,如果在私家,有咩事支援support好limited;but if in government hospital, when some urgent thing happens, they just call for help, then 兒科,內科etc always standby and will be available within minutes...仲有私家逐樣charge, 如果你一切順利就唔係好貴;但一有突發野就 ....
我係一個example, 本來唸住順產,但開到5度時BB心跳得唔好,即刻emergency caeser,仲有兒科standby,如果在私家就
不過當然私家待遇好D啦,不過都係三幾日je,我覺得瑪麗算OK 啦.....

I gave birth to my baby at Queen Mary Hospital last year...I had good experience there. I didn't come across any medi-students at that time. I was sent to the labour room at 4:00am and gave birth to my baby before 10:00am....(maybe the students were still asleep at that time:mrgreen: ) Really don't know the situation in these days. As your time is quite close, have you already registered at QM? (I guess you do the check up at both private and public hospital, right?) Don't worry! QM is a big hospital with good backups....the charge is cheap compare with the private sector.

自己係行內人,都知少少既.....有某幾間醫院的確係 但QMH係教學醫院,quality is good gar! For nurses, you can't expect they will be as nice as private hospital ones, but I think they have improved a lot already! Most of them are very helpful gar!
我既朋友,做醫生既全部都係在government hospital 生仔,唔係因為有priority (醫院大把高級醫生,醫生仔唔算係咩), 而係因為對你對BB都有個保障....我由Tuen Mun穿水都'pok'去QMH生就係因為咁....
