The first time is in May (17mths). The fever raised from 38 to 40 in about half an hour. The whole convulsion lasted for over three hours. Was rushed to the hospital from the doctor's clinic after stablised from the first eposide.
The second time happened in Oct (22mths). The fever roars from 37.6 to 40 in an hours. The convulsion was not so severe this time and I had the medicine at home too. But the fever kept soar to 41.4 within the next half hour that I had to rush her to the hospital.
I also agree that we should give them medicine when the fever is around 37+ and the high fever medicine at 38.5+ before it raise to rapidly. It is also recommended to keep some convulsion medicine at home give in case.
Actually, my girl had stopped going to all classes and playgroups after the first convulsion until August when pre-nursery started.
Unfornately, school has different kinds of virus. She had been pretty ill for 4 times in only two months' time.
Now, my husband and I had decided not to let her go to school from now on till at least end of Jan. Cos we both think our baby's health is much more precious than what she could learn from school at this stage.
i am afraid my daughter will go to school in the coming year. i hope she can go to the famous school(e.g. St. Cathrine, KV), but it's too crowd in the school. some school is not too crowd, but it's not good(e.g. Keen ming, Cannan. how can i choose????
For me, I have chosen not to crowded one due to her sickness. My girl class only have 19 students at the moment with three teachers, but still suffered from very frequent infections.
