My baby needs to be fed every 2 hours to maximum 5 hours. He eats around 8 to 9 rounds every day. Every round eats for 10 mins to 30 mins.

He was 7.1 lb at birth. Tomorrow, he'll be "full moon" and now he is 10 lb. I think ok la.

Nurses said we need to wake up the baby if it doesn't eat for 3 hours.

I read some book which says need to wake up the baby for feeding if hasn't eat for 5 hours.

For me, I'll wake up the baby if he hasn't eat for 5 hours. I think ok "gua"? =.=a

Ur BB can sleep for 5 hours continously?
My BB only sleep max to 3 hours. So I feed him at least every 3 hours. Sometimes, he wakes up after 1.5 hours and ask for milk. Then I feed him ar.
So tired for it. My BB only 12 days old.
Nurses said no need to see the clock. When BB asks for, then feed BB wor.

而家都仲係３個鐘１餐，有時醒咗２－３個鐘之後會瞓耐少少，４－４．５個鐘先食，如果係晚上瞓覺時間我唔會叫佢，等佢自己醒，早上就會叫醒佢食．

Dear im_csb,

My bb "completes first month" tomorrow. Sometimes he sleeps for 5 hours continuously at night. But usually only for 4 hours at night. He's a "Lan Fun" (like to sleep) bb.

Sometimes, when he's in a bad mood, he'll ask for milk continuously, like every 50 min! But suck only for 3-5 mins.... then sleep... then cry and ask for milk. Maybe, he just like to suck for some sense of safety. Luckily, in this week, he never did this again.

I also feed on demand. Whenever he asks, he gets milk!!

我阿B唔會一次過食, 啜十分鐘就痌屎尿屁, 是但一樣, 眼定定唔肯食, 仲吐返乳頭出來. 每次起碼停十分鐘, then 又食十至十五分鐘, 所以每次我都用好耐先餵完一次, 有冇辦法可以改善呢?

My situation is quite similar to urs, also feed every 2 hrs to 5 hrs. But each time take around 30-60mins ar, for she sleep every now and then sometimes, have to wake her up~~~

Your son's weight grows quite good ar, congrats!

by the way, do u feel tired to keep breastfeeding ar? I sometimes feel hard to insist~~

我bb今日滿月,出世時3.1kg,今日去健康院打針磅重4.65kg

重了3磅7安士,個個見到bb都話bb大隻左,肥左,而家bb肥到個頸摺埋晒,我老公仲整成日笑bb似唐朝肥女,總算沒有白費我一個月以來日餵夜餵的苦心,bb頭兩周好好瞓,每次吃完0.5-1hr就瞓3-4hr,怎料一踏入第3周就成日唔肯瞓,我見自己有'貨',只要她哭肯吃就餵,試過馬拉松式餵足三個鐘,

不過我就快番工,所以想較番個時間,等第日工人易跟d

Dear Alice00,
I also feel very tired breastfeeding. Ever since my baby is born, I haven't had one round of sleep over 5 hours. But I believe breastfeeding is a good start and hope I can continue.

Also, I always keep watching my baby's behaviour when feeding. Whenever his little eyes are becoming small, or the sucking power is less, I'll wake him BEFORE he sleeps. This is much better than waking him up "after" he sleeps. My baby is very "lan fun" (like to sleep) so after he sleeps, it is nearly impossible to wake him up... so I will just give up that round of feeding and let him sleep. Also, feeding up to 60 mins is too tiring... (Nurses said this is not effective sucking, so the baby is getting much milk and also too tiring for the mami) Anyways, whenever he's hungry again, he'll surely let me know again and I can feed him again.

Remember: catch every bit of time to sleep! Even 30 min sleep is good! Gan ba de!
