My maid will go to Canada soon. So, I need to apply another maid. My questions are:
1) Can I bring the balanced levy to the new maid's contract or can I get back the balanced money later?
2) The current maid is using my husband as the employer. For the new maid, I want to use my name as the employer as my husband some times not in HK. Can I get back the balanced levy if there is a change on the employer name?
The levy balance can be brought forward to the next maid under the same employer's name. If you can't find the new maid within 4 months, the balance will be forfeited. No refund allowed.
Tks for your reply. Want to clarify further, should I need to wait for the old maid leave before the new maid's visa get approved to get back the balanced levy.
If like that, I will have a period of time without maid which I can't accept. Pls help.
The Immigration Department will not release you the new maid's visa before your old maid leaves if you want to bring the levy balance to the new maid. Another alternative is to pay another $2400 to get the new maid's visa before the old maid leaves, then the levy balance for the old maid will be forfeited.
