Could anyone please help to advise for some of questions regarding the Germany travel?

My Sep 2016 Germany plan is
Day 1 - Zurich HB -> Munich -> Augsburg (stay in Augsberg)
Day 2 - Augsburg <->Neuschwanstein Castle (stay in Augsberg)
Day 3 - Augsberg -> Rothenburg ob der tauber (stay in Rothenburg ob der tauber)
Day 4 - Rothenburg ob der tauber -> Frankfurt (stay in Frankfurt)
Day 5 - Frankfurt Hbf -> Frankfurt Airport
for 2 people

(1) Could I use Regional day ticket "Bavaria-Ticket" for Day 1 trip?

(2) Could I use Regional day ticket "Bavaria-Ticket" [at the price of EUR 28 for 2 people] for my Day 2 trip (Augsburg <-> Fussen, and then Fussen <-> Neuschwanstein Castle)?
What is the city coverage of "Bavaria-Ticket" as I cannot find and confirm through the DB website?
Does the "Bavaria-Ticket" include the travel (e.g. Bus) from Fussen to Neuschwanstein Castle?
How to choose the journey for the "Bavaria-Ticket" on the internet page?
If I use Regional day ticket "Bavaria-Ticket", how to ensure I would get seats on my selected journey?

(3) For Day 3 trip (Augsberg -> Rothenburg ob der tauber), could I use Regional day ticket "Bavaria-Ticket", or better buy the train (Early Bird) now?

(4) For Day 4 trip (Rothenburg ob der tauber -> Frankfurt), could I use "Weekend ticket for German regional trains", at the price of EUR 44 for 2 people?
Worth to stay for the rest of day in Frankfurt, or go to other area like Heidelberg?

(5) For Day 5 trip (Frankfurt Hbf -> Frankfurt Airport), there is a route using S 8 , however the fare is not available. May I ask, how could I find the ticket price for S 8?

Sorry for so many questions. Thanks very much.

(1) Could I use Regional day ticket "Bavaria-Ticket" for Day 1 trip?
Of course not. Bayern ticket is only valid for travel between Ulm, Augsburg and Munich. You still need to pay for travel between Zurich to Ulm. Booking saver ticket seems to be the only option especially if you don't get a Swiss pass.

(2) Could I use Regional day ticket "Bavaria-Ticket" [at the price of EUR 28 for 2 people] for my Day 2 trip (Augsburg <-> Fussen, and then Fussen <-> Neuschwanstein Castle)? Yes, up to the ticket office of castle, but you have to pay for the bus ride between the ticket office to the castle. Please don't buy round trip bus ticket because it's better to walk down the castle in 20 minutes than walking at least 10 minutes back to the bus station and then waiting
possibly 30 minutes for the next bus.

What is the city coverage of "Bavaria-Ticket" as I cannot find and confirm through the DB website? The whole Bavaria, including some cities at the border like Ulm and Salzburg.

Does the "Bavaria-Ticket" include the travel (e.g. Bus) from Fussen to Neuschwanstein Castle?

How to choose the journey for the "Bavaria-Ticket" on the internet page? No need to book in advance, just buy it from the vending machine in the train station.

If I use Regional day ticket "Bavaria-Ticket", how to ensure I would get seats on my selected journey? No guarantee but I don't think reservation is needed for local train. I always find seat available.

(3) For Day 3 trip (Augsberg -> Rothenburg ob der tauber), could I use Regional day ticket "Bavaria-Ticket", or better buy the train (Early Bird) now? Yes, Bayern ticket is valid. You may try the saver ticket but I think it may be more expensive.

(4) For Day 4 trip (Rothenburg ob der tauber -> Frankfurt), could I use "Weekend ticket for German regional trains", at the price of EUR 44 for 2 people? Yes, weekend ticket allows you to travel on local transport in the whole Germany, but I recommend you to try reserve saver ticket because it may be cheaper and allow you to travel on faster EC or ICE train.

Worth to stay for the rest of day in Frankfurt, or go to other area like Heidelberg? I strongly recommend you to play a visit to Heidelberg instead of Frankfurt.

(5) For Day 5 trip (Frankfurt Hbf -> Frankfurt Airport), there is a route using S 8 , however the fare is not available. May I ask, how could I find the ticket price for S 8?

Thanks a lot, your advise is really helpful!

For point 1, does the Swiss pass contain the journey to Germany? Because I would leave from Zurich Main station to Augsberg/Munich. I have not yet planned the travel in Switzerland, but seems Swiss pass would be the option.

For Switerland, I would visit Luzern -> Jungfrau -> Zurich. Is that Swiss pass the best option for travelling around?

Thanks for the advise for visiting Neuschwanstein Castle and RMV bus!
For the RMV bus, would the usual practise be searching the journey schedule online and buy ticket later during the journey?

Many thanks!

Of course not, just to the border of Germany. You still need Quer-Durchs-Land-Ticket or two lander tickets to get to Augsburg, so please buy saver ticket of Zurich -> Augsburg from bahn.com. The price may be as low as 29 euro.

For Switerland, I would visit Luzern -> Jungfrau -> Zurich. Is that Swiss pass the best option for travelling around?

Absolutely not, the price of Swiss pass is sky high (3 days 210 CHF, 3 days flex 239 CHF), so I don't think the cost can be covered unless you travel a few hours a day on the Glacier express or Bernina express. Please buy a half fare card at 120 CHF for use in Swiss. It can save you 50% on all kinds of transport including the cogwheel train up the Jungfrau. The money saved from the Jungfrau ride alone amounts to 90CHF, so I think this is the most cost-effective option for your trip.

Thanks for the advise for visiting Neuschwanstein Castle and RMV bus!

Yes, just buy it before you board. If you have other places to visit in Frankfurt, you may consider buying group day ticket. The group day ticket that covers Frankfurt airport is 4 districts group day ticket. If you want to go to Mainz or Russelsheim then you need a 6 disrticts group day ticket. All of these tickets are available in all vending machines of RMV transport system.

May I ask some more questions on train schedule?

I am checking on the journey from Rothenburg ob der Tauber -> Heidelberg Hbf -> Frankfurt and stay in Frankfurt.
I am worrying if the transfer time is enough for the third transfer - 3 mins in Osterburken. The exchange in Osterburken is S1, seems it is BUS, then is 3 mins enough for the transfer, given that I will be carrying large luggages. Can anyone advise?
Many thanks!

S1 should be sub-urban train. not bus. 3 minutes would be risky especially with German trains not being always on time. You can use the "Adjust the transfer time" function on the right to pick the next train.

Heidelberg is 4 hours away from Rothenburg which I think is too far away (I had not checked the time before I recomended to you last time). I suggest you to visit Wurzburg instead which is only one more hours away from both Rothenburg and Frankfurt. The Residenz and castle are well worth a visit.

Remember to take a bus or preferably a taxi to the old city center. It takes 45 mins if walk.

I am first time travel to Europe,1- I already buy some train ticket online with ...

1. BahnCard can be ordered online but it only pays off if you travel a lot! I don't think it is justified to buy one unless you spend a month in Germany.

2. I'm not sure about the validity to other transports, you may refer to the official site for details. https://www.bahn.com/i/view/GBR/en/prices/germany/bahncard.shtml

3. Yes, just buy the lander ticket in vending machine and freely get on all kinds of transport. Ticket validation is not required because you've already chosen the date of use. However, please note that single ticket and some day passes may need validation before boarding.

4. With saver and lander tickets, traveling in Germany is inexpensive, so please always consider taking the train if available. Children under 15 traveled together with parent are free of charge for both saver and lander tickets (Germany pass only half price for age 6-14).

Frankfurt <-> Koln : Round trip saver tickets preferable because ICE is possible. In my opinion the small towns scattered along the Rhine are more well worth a visit than Koln.

Fussen <-> Munchen : Bayern ticket

5. Change money in Hong Kong for sure.
