You still breastfeed after 1 year old?

How many of you still breastfeeding?

Next week, my baby will be 11 months. Some of my relatives always tell me to quit but I ignore them.
First of all, they said breastfeed him for six months would be good. Then now they say, the milk after 1 year old will be no good. But I read many of you feed the baby after 1 year old.

So how many of you still breastfeed? Please report. Then it will give me more support to keep breastfeed.

same as Gigi said, please trust yourself.tell your relatives that World health organisation suggests mommy to feed their babies at least 2 years, so you tell them that WHO has research, statistic to prove it is true, especially i read from the sears book, if too early to push the baby to wean, it will affect the mental development for babies.

how many times you meet your relatives per week, i think they will not call you to stop everyday, so when you meet them, maybe you switch this topic if they want to discuss, or you firmly tell them that "
i will follow WHO's instructions, and it is good for baby, thanks for your concern., ".

if you really quit BF because of the comment of your relatives, one day when you look back , you will regret especially when you see the difference of the health of bf babies and formular babies, also, is it worth doing so because of them?

繼續努力，我囝囝就黎 15 個月大，我仍然繼續餵母乳，世界衞生組織建意餵母乳到 BB 兩歲大架！！！

阿仔十個月仲食緊人奶,而家仲好鍾意我攬住佢坐係梳化喂佢,佢可以嘆半個鐘,好溫馨

証明bb大左,雖然有好多其他野食,食人奶已經唔係為左飽肚,但係依然好享受食人奶.既然我鍾意喂,bb鍾意食,就算全世界得我一個喂,我都會繼續,關其他人咩事

更何況事實証明好多媽咪都堅持喂.
努力呀!

Agree!繼續努力!!我都係餵人奶餵到10個月,本來想餵到2歲,但由於"沙士",因我做護士,當時要照顧沙士病人,怕萬一不幸受到感染,會從人奶傳染俾BB,所以只好無奈放棄! :cry:
你o地千祈唔好放棄,食人奶o既BB真係健康D,touch wood我囡囡由出世至2歲2個月都未試過病,傷風、咳、流鼻水&腸胃炎都冇試過,第1次病就係今年9月nursery開學後病o左1星期,之後都好番晒!而且食人奶BB好錫媽咪,我囡囡最跟我&最聽我話,就算佢曳曳我打佢,佢死都要跟住我! :-P

dear all mama,

thanks for all your sharing...v. encouraging....

i'm also a whole breastfeeding mama...and my baby is now 5 months old...

i'm quite tired recently :( coz i need to go to work and i go back home during lunch time and breastfeed my baby everyday...v. rush ka...

i gain my energy in this newsgroup...as we're 同路人...my father and mother always tell me to stop breastfeeding but i ignore them...

let's continue to finish our great job...as i think we're glad to do so.
