In general, children born outside of the UK can obtain UK citizenship if either parent is British. Some background info at Wiki: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/British_nationality_law (have a look at the paragraphs British Citizenship by descent from 1983)
However, if your British Passport is obtained under 居英權方案, different rules might apply.
Check with British Consulate in HK is the easiest way if you are still in HK la.

其實居英權都會有分你係主申請人定付屬申請人，因為就算居英權都有分centralization or registration，而hk97前所行嘅都只係居英權嘅一種。任何一種都要係主申請人先可以子女同時享有英籍，我同我細佬就係呢個分別，我個女出世時已攞uk citizenship，但我細佬將來嘅小朋友就唔會。
