I have not used any mover company when I relocated to here as I don't bring any big furnitures, just apparels and some valueable stuff. How much and what kind of stuff you are planning to bring over to US. Honestly speaking, if the furnitures or stuff are just common furnitures, I would suggest you to sell them and bring new ones here as your current furnitures may not fit your new home. I have friends who move from one state to another (domestic relocation within US) and brought their old furnitures. They ended up selling them and brought new ones.
For books or valueable stuff, any chance that you can mail to your relatives in here first? Do you have a permanent address already? Another tip is that you may want to communicate with your relatives if you have decided to stay in their homes at the beginning.
It may not be real helpful but I have google "international mover" and found this site which provides tips and ideas on finding a mover http://www.moving411.com/international.shtml

Hi Rose-mag, Thanks for the info!
I went on the website but it's only for domestic moving. Sorry I did not make it clear, I am moving to SF from HK.
Looking forward to live at the bay area and meet all of you.
