My Philippino helper has been working for me for nearly 6 years. I want to renew her but she will go back to Philippines for good. The agents told me that she is not entitled to the long service payment. I have check with the Labour Department and was told that I do not need to pay her long service. Since she is very OK, I intend to give her a sum of money as a bonus (but not the same amount as the long service payment). Can you suggest a sum that I should pay her?

首先, 你要有證明係你菲姐唔同你續約, 勞署建議喺完約前不少於7天, 以書面要求外傭續約, 若外傭無理拒絶續約, 僱主就無需俾長服, 詳文可見勞署網頁

當你手頭上有哩啲證明時, 就隨心俾你想俾的銀碼吧.

如果你冇菲姐唔續約的證明, 菲姐隨時可去勞署開file告你唔同佢續約又唔俾長服佢, 你有證明就冇問題了.

Hi DoReMi媽媽

I asked her to renew contract with me before CNY this year. She said her husband would like her to go back. I asked her to write a letter to me saying that she thanked for my offer to renew her contract but she intended to go back to the Philippines. I have also copied this letter to my new agent in order to speed up the processing of my new helper. Is it enough evidence to protect myself?

I intend to give her HK$5,000 as bonus, but I am not sure if she feels happy about this amount.

你有佢親手寫的信就好好多了, 金額就隨你心意啦, 你都係佢走嗰刻先俾佢的, 唔駛太着意佢滿唔滿意個金額吧.

看來這一類的工人都已經搵夠，ng置在長服，不過當然有證據在手比較穩陣。樓主都有情有義，所以相信樓主的工人是一匹良駒，可喜可賀。

i have same case too! BK mom suggested me to give her a Notice of contract renewal and let maid to reply. So that i have some doc on hand to avoid her to sue me. Actually i am planning to give her 2-months bonus! (according to the VISA, she will be leaving in early July!
