I am a full time mother just pass by. I made congee for my son but sometimes I found fish bones in the congee. It is really difficult to ensure "bone free" in the congee. In fact my baby can split out the bone (natural human response). I don't mean you should let go your maid, you need to tell her the consequences when the bone caught in your baby's throat. However, I just want to make a point that even I am a mother, I cannot ensure "bone free". Prehaps you need to ask to check with her hand with thin gloves on or buy those fish with bigger bones (garoupa). Maybe that's help.
