> Complaint against driver of taxi xxxx
With reference to your captioned complaint, we are concerned that you have such an experience. We are established under the Transport Advisory Committee to receive and handle complaints and suggestions from the public on transport matters.
Upon receipt of a complaint or a suggestion, the TCU would contact the relevant government department or transport services operator direct to ensure that it is processed expeditiously.
This Unit is considering the following two courses of action. Depending on your decision whether or not to be a witness assisting the Hong Kong Police
investigation and attending court if necessary, one of the two will be taken. If you wish to be a witness, your identity, personal particulars, means of contact and all the details about the incident as given will be disclosed to the Police and other relevant third parties for the purpose of the investigation and subsequent court case if found necessary. The Police will then contact you in due course to arrange statement taking.
If you do not wish to be a witness, we will put this taxi/driver under observation and refer to the Transport Department for their follow-up
action, if found necessary.
Please note that you are entirely free to choose between either option. We will not influence your decision to be or not to be a witness. I hope to
hear from you as soon as possible about whether to be or not you wish to be a witness so that the case can be processed expeditiously. Thank you
for bringing this matter to our attention.
