Can I employ maid from Hong kong to UK, if yes how? Also, how to get there visa? Thanks advice!!

以前有朋友移民過來嗰陣申請帶埋個Maid過來...即係話要用開既先得.呢個page有d資料: http://www.ukvisas.gov.uk/en/howtoapply/infs/inf17overseasdomesticworkers
但我有日飲茶同個waitress傾開,UK agencies d Maid,好貴,好多野要攪(NI, Insurance...) 但between Chinese,佢哋有時會問到有人肯做

But I think this is very risky as you don't know the person and it is illegal...

Or how about some girls they are from Russian, Norway,.........etc. Who come to UK to learning English, you can also pay for one to work in your home, look after kid and do homework..............but I am not sure do they only stay a few mths...................

As I knew, you can bring your helper if your helper had been working for u at least a year.

Or you can employ a malaysia helper, but you have to take your risk, as they don't have work visa here.

there are legal helpers, call "au pair", who are europians. But you have to provide a room for her and give her certain hours for study, but not expensive.

I'm sorry, I'm not quiet sure about all of the above information. I've just heard those information from friends.

Yes, what you said is correct for getting one from HK and Malaysian helpers.

For 'au pairs', they might not want to work in a chinese family as they are here to learn English...and you will need to give them time to study and they will do a few hours everyday - possibly looking after the children and a bit of cleaning but not cooking. Not like the maids we have in HK - 一腳踢 and 24/7.

Thanks for all your info, just wondering my maid in HK used to work at our family but it's employ by my Mum is it possible I can apply her visa to UK, but my mum live in HK wor. Also, how can I employ Malaysian or "au pairs"? How much are they cost?

Your mum is the employer of the maid and you are not actually living in HK right now, so...

Au pairs needs to stay with an English-speaking family...so we might not be qualified to take one

I've seen employment agencies advertised in 英中時報 (which should be available in Chinese supermarkets free of charge). According to the waitress whom I have talked to, Malaysian maid costs less than a Maria in HK but we don't live in London.

thanks for all your valuable info, let me check check detail sin. Actually I don't need to employ maid at the moment coz I'm full time mum only look after one baby, but I"m planning for a 2nd one, it's hard for me look after 2 young kids and do the housework, also no relative in uk. Hope can get more info for future use.

Happygirl,

I got the same concern as yours. Now my daughter goes to nursery 5 days a week. If I want to have 2nd B, I have to have someone help me. Now I'm thinking about hire a Malaysian maid, but I am worry about she may treat my daughter badly. Too 煩!!
