在閱讀英語故事時, 如碰到不明白的詞語時, 應該怎麼辦?

ignore the new word and go on reading 還是即時查字典?

我試過在閱讀途中頻頻碰到生字, 又不明白文中意思, 因而無心機再讀下去….

請分享一下你們的處理方法….

For your younger daughter, I recommend Young Cam Jansen series. You can also borrow them in Hong Kong Library.

Do not confuse Young Cam Jansen with Cam Jansen. Cam Jansen are chapter books (black and white). Young Cam Jansen are colourful and easy to read.

Darren Shan's books are for Young Adult. It means they are for 13-year-old or above.

唔駛幫佢，自己可以查，依家用GOOGLE查字典已經好方便。

如果小朋友有10歲，可以用英文查英文解釋，進步更快。

Francesca Simon wrote Horrid Henry. The reading level of Horrid Henry may be suitable for your son but the story content (arguing with his brother or being blamed by his mother) is for younger children. He may think the stories are boring.

I just bought a series of story books, written by Francesca Simon, for my daughter. She is 6 now. The books are quite interesting and I hope she will love to read them. Of course, I will try to ask my son to flip through some.

My son is 11 years old la..

I just want to finish my reading and then pass the story book to him, so that I can share/discuss the content of the story with him.

He just want to read what he likes, e.g. chinese history. I wish he can do more English reading.

By the way, what level of kids (study in local schools) will be reading percy jackson in HongKong?
