Re the winning bid of the ORTRAH, remember to ask the seller to provide info of shipping cost (surface mail or airmail) before payment.

They may charge you an extra 1 to 2 pounds for packing. If you found it unreasonale, holdl up the payment.

what will happen if we hold the payment indefinitely? i think there must be a deadline as bidding is a contractual commitment to buy the item one bids. you know I dn't bother to read all those rules but just want to get that done. and i am a new hand there... probably might have been cheated.... haaaa

sbd there offered me a lower price but jsut asked me to pay her the amt direct by paypal w/o doing thru eBay. must think I am lu lu..

any way... 1-2 pds is not a big deal la. of course the cheaper the better!!

Dora RR adventure is at HK$76 at mydear now. i have reserved one and will get it at around HK$60+. i have over 100 ready-to-read readers at home. Well, we have read 90% of them with my son. not bad!

now we are reading Ready Reader sets (4 sets), 1Now I'm reading book set (Amazing Animals... etc) +ORT stage 1 + 'I can read by myself' (orange/red Chinese series) + EtR Level 1 + BetterChinese's "My first Chinese words" books +NumberTales (Scholastic) + some other books this month. :wink: Really exhausting!!!

next target will be Milly & Molly series + 'I can read yb myself' yellow + Taiwan's "Little School Bag" probably from November.

Poor me, I don't really remember how many books I have actually for my son. I need to work hard on my book record !!!

My daughter loves to read. Yes, I've read that message about 40 books per day. I was impressed at the first glance. However, when I count my daughter's record, it's do-a-ble. Just think of ORT, over 10 per day, some short stories, just 5 minutes, then repeat again and again.

But of course, not everyday.

Yes, the bid at ebay is exactly a valid contract of buy & sell, but restricted to the price of the item itself (your bid price).

As for packing charge, if it was not mentioned before the bid, actually you may refuse to pay, or bargain with the seller for a lower charge la.

Actually the secondary market for ORT and Letterland books is very active in ebay cos most UK schools would use those books in class.

btw, I don't think you're able to distinguish UK mums and BK mums during bidding la.

I couldn't log back in after my poo-poo post

yesterday, then went to pr school for parents' visit so didn't reply.

My son isn't TOO keen on MSB, just in "interested" category. I think he saw that big book at Mydear himself last Sat, but didn't say anything. You know he would push books at me if he really wants them.

I see. Luckily my son doesn't have much problem in poo-poo. Moreover, my maid also trains him to bath and wash his hair by himself too.

How's your sons homework? Does he take a time long to finish? My son can finish most by himself but he always leaves those HW in Chinese. He needs me to explain to him the question!!!

Example for his math HW last night,
Odd + Odd = Odd/Even?
Even + Even = Odd/Even?
Odd + Even = Odd/Even?
Even + Odd = Odd/Even?

Another question:

What's the minimum no. of steps to rearrange the number sequence from 1,2,3,4,5,6,7,8,9,10 => 1,3,5,7,9,2,4,6,8,10 ?
(You can only swap the position of 2 numbers each time.)

For the MSB, he really loves it. I buy the Eng version even though I've the China version. Did you see the new Eng MSB TV-series in IXXX? (I got them yesterday.)

My son can at most manage the copying part of Chin homework only. Waits for me to finish off the rest, wouldn't even finish the corrections, nor the Chin sentences. Takes a vvv long time to finish, he doesn't concentrate, always goes over to play with his cars in the middle of doing his homework.

Slightly better since yesterday = managed to finish copying 1 page of Chin. Largely because I really

him on Monday for not doing anything before I went home AND throwing his books stationery toys all over the place.

(He threatened to report

to the police !!)

For Maths, we use Longman. Not the lively thinking type of maths like your son's school - that is quite like Olympian maths boh.

Didn't see the new MSB series when we were in Idxx last Sat, might have arrived after that or books available only upon pre-order.

do your kids like Teletubbies? you know what? my son is so crazy about them lately just after I have introduced him to 4 Teletubbies books from mainland. They are bilingual!!!

He always asks me to read about Po, Dipsy, LaaLaa and Tinky Winky as well as the Noo Noo!! the stories are really 低B!! but still my son laughs so loudly!!!
