I recently interviewed a Philippines maid and I wanted to hire her. She insists on doing the application herself because she doesn't want to pay agent fee. She was early released (work 1 year only) by her employer due to her employer will go to China for long (emmigration).

She told me I only need to pay around HK$500 for the application. She gave me all the contracts and forms to sign. In early October, she submited the application to HK Immigration dept. Since she didn't finish contract, immigration dept. wants to interview her on Oct 23 and asked me to sign whether I still want to continue the application as it might not go through. I signed the letter for her.

ANS:{If she really terminated because of Employer Immigrated to other country, normally she can process change employer application in Hong KOng without going back to Philippines, then the payment is really around HK$500, that is contract fee 297.50 & visa fee 160 only}

Would you please tell me what is the next steps and how much money do I need to pay? Do I really only pay HK$500? I read from other articles that I need to pay OWWA (US$125) but what is it? Since I am 7 month pregnant and expecting the baby in December. How long do you think I can get this maid? Do I need to go to the immigration dept./Philippines consulate many times?

Ans:{Actually on Oct 23 Immigration will let you know she can process or not, if yes really only need to pay HK$500 and the visa will be issued within 2-3 weeks. If yes you no need to go to Immigration or Phil Consulate. But the case if rejected, the maid need to go back to Philippines to wait for thwe visa, that is the time you need to pay for OWWA US$125. Don't worry so much, just wait for the result on Oct 23.}

唔駛咁早同佢攪續約，但而家要問定佢續唔續約。Bun Bun就可以唔經Agent，因bun bun一定識做renew。印印就比較複雜最好搵Agent攪。

係一個月通知定係7日通知呀?
係唔係都要比機票佢架?

1..印印住泗水，是否只買平些的耶加達機票比佢就得？
2..原來出普通票比出工人票仲平..可以嗎？
3..工人己過一年，佢7日大假己分段放左5日，餘下2日折現可嗎？是否耍白紙黑字…？

ANS:{如果係完約或Good released即僱主移民、過身或財政有問題，都可以在港轉僱主，其它炒既全部要離港重新申請}

同埋佢個印印冇agent跟緊..自己攪手續會唔會好麻煩..有d咩野手續要辦理..

ANS:{印印自己攪手續會好麻煩，你最好問清楚印尼領事館要咩手續，睇下你自己覺得自己攪唔攪得掂，先決定搵唔搵Agent做}

入境處巳在10月9日批出工人visa, Agent 亦巳於翌日取証, 請問工人何時可到香港? 我問agent, 但我還收不到確實的答案. 得個"拖"字. 請夫人教我怎麼辦. 所謂我急佢唔急!Sale 我時就天下無敵, 巳家好似無能為力!

如果係印印就真係無能為力，因印尼過年由8/10至22/10都無開工(由其係政府部門)，你唯有係22/10後全力追call你Agent盡快安排，可望11月初到港。但如果係Bun Bun就唔同，一般兩星期一定到，都係個句全力追call你Agent盡快安排。

ANS:{NO!其實勞工法例係叫僱主俾機票，如果你張來回機票未過期就可以照俾佢用，但如在約滿時機票已過期，就要再買過一張回程機票或折現給她}

Help. Urgent advice sought!!

Hi Mrs Rose,

I used the so-called "More famous Agency). I signed and gave them everything around 13/9. Chased them for VCA number a few times. They received VCA number on 18/10. Then I went to Immi that afternoon myself to find out the status. Officer told me that application was only submitted on 28/9. He asked me to write a letter to request urgent process. I did that on the same date. I told agency before that my old maid will leave HK early Nov.

Now what should I do? I plan to go to Immi again next Tue. to chase them. When do u think that the visa will be approved. There is not much time left.

I'm also thinking to complain to the agency in writing. Do you think that they are not doing their job properly?

我問了一些agent 關於direct hire 菲傭收費問題, 有些只比一個lump sum 係僱主比晒所有費用, 有些係我比一部份包香港入境所有doc 費用及機票body check up等等, 而菲傭負責o既係菲律賓當地document 費用, 離境前挪training cert 費用, 這是否洽當, 約選用我全費支付一個lump sum, 好似好無保障, 因為我比晒錢, visa 出o左, 而個家傭唔o黎香港, 咁就好麻煩!!!

首先你要明白咩叫direct hire ，即工人由閣下提供，亦即工人一切問題及責任都要由你承擔! 正因為工人信唔過所以Agent先要
僱主比晒所有費用囉。如果你認為唔恰當，就用菲傭負責俾係菲律賓當地既費用，減輕你係負擔。又或者想更有保障就請Agent提供既工人啦。

ANS:{一個月通知期或代通知金、人工計到走個日及回程機票。我巳email左信件samples俾你，跟住做即可}

1. 不可以，一定要俾去泗水既機票。
2. Airline 唔準工人用普通票架。
3. 餘下2日當然要折現及要白紙黑字簽收。

１．是否只買耶加達機票比佢算數，又要補錢又要機票，個人又衰，真係唔低，簡值貼錢買難受:-(

唔可以只買去耶加達機票，一定要送佢返鬼地方，亦無更便宜的方法sorry...

It is reasonable for the agent to submit and process your application around 2 weeks from your completion of documents as there may be still some further work to be done from the Philippines side as well before they are able to process the HK Immigration side.

You can still go to the Immigration to ask your status but it won't do any good. Because each time the officer have to pull out your file to check and it may delay the process further.

Dear mrs. Rose,

我都係第一次請工人，10月8號交齊文件同於agent度簽約請海外印傭，因而家家中有事希望印傭早d到，個agent話最早都要12月中，以妳的經驗，是否真的12月中會到？agent見我咁急，提議我請part time bun bun，有個bun bun而家香港等見官，第一次同第二次見官中間應有2 weeks可以來幫手，計番日薪俾佢，妳認為可行嗎？好煩惱！
