Someone told me that we need to deposit $10,000 to the My Dream a/c until 31.12.05 in order to get the piggybank. Is that true?

btw, I just wonder how a kid can issue chq?

ha.... good question!!! Actually, opening the a/c for one's kid is an excuse. It is the parent who wants to own the disneyland chequebook. Like all junior bank a/c, the actual owner is the parent la. The chequebook is for the parent la.

I think given the extra 1% saving interest rate (till Dec 05) and thereafter 0.5% as well as teh piggy bank.... It is worthy of opening an a/c for your kid.

provided that he does not hate miskxy mouse la.

Yes, the amt you quoted is correct re getting the piggy bank.

The offer is open till mid Sept.

Fully occupied for half day tomorrow -
Open day at my son's former Nursery, we are invited back to perform / participate,
perform sometime around 10-11am I think,
then go home and change into Little Grasshopper uniform (junior scout) and greet the guests from 12:30 - 1pm.

Then if weather permits,my son goes off to Sai Kung with daddy (remote area called 大浪村, near 咸田灣 which is in between 大浪大灣and 大浪西灣) for 2d1n, he will get a ride there on a 大飛if he is lucky, otherwise need to walk for 1.5 hrs at least.

And I will be FREE !!!

(Call you if I go to Idxx maybe tea together la.)

Also need to go to Jusco to buy Pr 1 開學items.

Was considering to invite you along if and when you apply for IPA course -- didn't know you had already had a go. Still interested ? No hurry.

The cheap cheap "揸兜 bank" is going to 諗縮數 again la!! :tongue: :tongue: :tongue:

Suppose you depost $10,000 and earn interest at 2.25% p.a. (1.25% + extra 1%), and they loan out the fund at prime rate (6.75%), they still can "dab" you 4.5% p.a. (6.75%-2.25%).

Say if you open an account on 1.9.05, your fund will be locked till 31.12.05 for 4 months (if you wanna get the piggy bank for free). Then they can get jetso from the interest spread of $150, with calculation as follows:

$10,000 x 4.5% x 4/12 = $150

And if you cannot meet their fund requirement, they will charge you $200.

Estimated cost of piggy should be less than $100.

Hence....... "揸兜 bank" is gonna win all the way la!!

It should be safe to stay at home under such bad bad weather la!!!

I'd been to 咸田灣 and 大浪灣 years ago and stayed there for a night. I played snorkeling and surfing at the beach there. Lots and lots of fun.. and lots and lots of bites!!

Yes, you may take 大飛 to get there la!! Very very excited as you would be fallen over any time!! Besides you may choose to walk over mountains... but make sure you have enough 腳骨力 beforehand!!

that's why i have yet to put the required amt in the a/c yet. will wait a bit. I only put the min $ first.

as re S.C bank, they won't do losing business la. There won't be such a big toad jumping in the street. But as long as the client gains a bit (if no better place to put the $$) and even the bank gains A LOT, it is still win-win situation.

Maybe all banks are doing similar 'tricks' to make profit.

Re IPA, which programme are u joining?

Only 6 lessons for 2 parts, sound good !! How many left in your case? The only prohibiting factor is -> missing some hours to play and read with my little boy.

Is the ah sir 有料之人? I think this is very important. What about your classmates? Are they from all walks of life? Last time at PolyU, my classmates' standards were so diverse. Some didn't even know how to speak English and some were very fluent and some were oldies learning some extra things in their free time....So not much to gain from classroom interaction!

Most importantly, I lost interest to study further after the course. Then.. forgot everything!!!

The lecturer of the course is Derek Kwok, a 有料之人 with no doubt!!

I've just taken my first lesson on Thursday, and there's 5 more on the way.

Derek Kwok is very humorous and I bet you'll not feel bored. Last lesson 我笑到luen晒肚呀！！

For my class, most of the classmates are young people la.

Price is resonabe too ---> $780 incl 6 lesson (@2.5hour), CD, textbook and workbook!!
