Pauline,
恭喜你有luck.
係呀, 8 May 我要去合一堂交費, 可能要交埋校服費, 所以要麻煩你, 唔好意思, 另要多謝tara.
eggeggma,
As u said, 合一堂this year only got 1 am, 1 pm & 1 full time nursery. Why so few classes ? How many K1 am classes they've got this coming year?
JJ's & other mums,
JJ's, have u got my PM ? I would like to held a playgroup for 2.5 to 4 years old in Ma On Shan. Suggested theme is "Balloon Party". Anyone is interested, just propose a date first. I'm available on late May or early June.
Helen Grandma / JJ's
我也開始換maid, 都好煩. 想轉個後生"飛"........
Tubbies,
I've heard that Indo Government changed policy. To renew contract, no need to attach with agency. U can do paper work directly with immigration dept, both HK & Indo one. No agency fee is required. See BK's relevant discussion board, many linked information provided ~ very useful.
ontingma: My friend wants am class but the school tells her that there will be only one class. She did also ask why not open an extra am class but did not have a clear answer. I guess the school assumes all present nursery kids, i.e., including pauline's princess (the extra class opened last year), will be promoted to K1 in coming Sept. It is easier to hire extra teacher but impossible to find extra classroom for extra class. Just my guess.
pauline.c: Kung Hei.
"training"--what you mean
I&IMOM: IC (Fun Fort case).
eggegg is outgoing cos she has a 'play-father': play play play always play (ask your hubby la, hehehe). Also eggegg started playgroup at 2.5 years old and so able to communicate with strangers and cope with new environment. Also Shy at the first lesson and becomes very active afterwards.
I find that ESF is rather cautious and conservative in assessment, perhaps to maintain the reputation and professionalism. Moreover, her ESF teacher is the site coordinator who is supposed to have dealt with many kids. In MOS playgroups, eggegg always gets excellent report, but only above average in ESF assessment report. Luckily, written comments are encouraging. Well, 'a higher mountain outside this mountain,' and I can use this as reference to train eggegg.
The so-called assessment takes 2 weeks because it covers a lot of things, time-consuming and teacher does not want to push as some kids need this report for the 3 round p.1 application . So unlike last term, this takes 2 weeks.
Contents as follows:
Week 1 oral one-to-one basis: phonics, reader, preposition & conversation (English, one day); Chinese consists of looking at the picture and do a little bit presentation, and reading vocab and sentences (2 days); and one day mental. Week 2 is paper works on english, chinese, numbers and general studies on 4 days. That's why takes 2 weeks.
In fact, eggegg does not have many assessments, once every term whose results will be listed in the report. Teacher will give you the exam content and syllabus one month beforehand for preparation. In between, there are regular revisions (one-page work sheet) but they are not counted. So I just concentrate on the once/term assessments which cover 10 weeks' stuff.
Have Isa's KG started preparing p.1? eggegg is now learning to write handbook.
