infact, I found the flies in brisbane are fly quite slow compared to HKs' / Sydneys'. Quite easy to catch~

by hand? I don't have that skill. when they stop on the table, use newspaper/magazine hit them.

Last time I tried to bring 2 from HK but being collected by the custom officer. Its dangerous item not allowed.

Actually, the flies fly slower then HK flies and bigger. After 1-2hr they getting slower and slower and most of the case you can found it dead next day.

You can catch it with your hand and most of it I kill it with normal 烏英"拍.

You can buy a trap from Bunnings with some liquid inside which attract the flies, however it can be filled up with flies and its very horriable. I saw my neighbour used once and I believer there were almost few hundreds of dead flies inside.

I won't touch it to throw away.

Oh, good of you telling me about the custom restriction! I really thought of buying an electrical one from HK later.

I have bought a fly trap from the Bunnings, but not sure about its usefulness really, and I am also afraid that it would be too disgusting to dispose the trap full of flies. that is why I ask here for advice.

maybe I shall just practise fly killing technique, haha!

又有問題需請教各位, 請問在超市賣的肉是不是新鮮的? 有沒有frozen過的呢? 那些專賣肉類的店又怎樣?
我其實想知道, 那些肉買回家後可否frozen.

超市賣的肉是新鮮的, those one soft and in open fridge with food wrap.

賣肉類的店 also fresh, some people said it is even better.

We bought fresh meat and then frozen it with freezer. No problem.

We bought meat from chinese meat shop as the can give those chinese cut meat like we were in HK.

hello, just came back from brisbane. I think brisbane is quite ok but my husbane likes perth more. anyway, I have a question, for average, how much a family will spend in a month, just as including gas for the cars, insurance, expenses for children and such.

I know it is very depended on the family, however, i just want to know normally for a family with 4 members, how much will spend in a month.

I think the things in OZ is getting very expensive, especially the food, so I need to re-consider about my immigration.

Please kindly give me some idea, such as the renting fee for the house...

the things here are very expensive.
I went to Gold Coast today, 2 hours' drive, used up AUD$17 for petrol. I think app. 70km.
food, approx. double the price in HK
pork $17/kg, chicken thigh fillet 9/kg (discounted)
vegetables ~$2/half catty
eggs $3-5/dozen
bread $3-6/load
fresh milk $4.7/3L
if go out to eat, cheapest I saw $6.5, no drinks.
soft drinks or fruit juice $2-3/bottle in food court.
fruit juice appr $3/2.4L in supermarket

children if go to state school, no school fee. but uniform price double that in HK. stationery fee $100/year.
outside school hour care $11/hr (morning) $22/hr (afternoon) $38/day(holiday)
childcare centre not sure, ~$60/day in Sydney
swimming class $60/4 lessons (group)
if kid is going to learn piano, $20-50/30 minutes
nanny $20/hour

must buy private medical insurance, AUD 250-350/ month for family

car insurance ~550-700/year

電話, 上網費depends on your home site, not every company can cover your area. we must use the most expensive one, $100/month, just internet and land line.

mobile I think the cheapest is $29/month.

rent depends on the area you want to choose, and the size of the house. you may go to www.realestate.com.au to check out the rent for your dream house.

If HK is not so air polluted, I think HK is far far better than here, in terms of many aspects.

Bear in mind that the weight is Kg = 2.2lbs, not very very expensive and think when you were in Hk to buy Aus fruit, how much does it cost?

Think positive, here bigger space, less people, more park, driving is good, regular work hrs. Tax is higher but if you have kids, you can use it back. Doctor visit is free if it is bulk bill, free N1H1 vaccine, free bbq at park etc etc...

I guess Perth may be more expensive as it is mining town.....

其實也不一定要兩架車的.
我親友, 只有一部車, 小朋友在隔離街上child care, 一個駕車返工, 另一個就坐巴士轉火車.
所以, 最終要看你住的地區交通是否便利, 小朋友上學地點, 和上班的地點.

布市的租金, 中等地區約$300-400一個星期. 有些地區較便宜, 但一分錢一分貨. 不是屋子太殘, 就是環境不好.
通常學校成績較好的區(指公校), 租金都較貴.

不知你做哪一行呢? 介意pm給我再詳談嗎?

it depends on your circumstances really. where will you live? where is the childcare? where is your C6's office?

my friend and her partner both work at the city and both of them take bus. no need to drive during weekday at all. if your C6 most likely get a job in the city, I don't think he wanna drive anyway. traffic everyday!!

1 car is must buy I would say, but if you buy 2 cars, then, think about it, you need to find a bigger house/unit because need a double garage!! and double the car fix cost (rego, insurance etc)

well, if you think you really need 2 cars, you don't need to ask coz you have no choice.
