I learnt from amazon that Dinosaur Store is suitable for children aged 9-12 wor... but your kid is now only 2+

OK, no problem!! I will post up here once I found good priced book in Commercial Press la.

btw, I also bought the "Sound of Music" VCD set (3 VCDs) at Commercial Press last night ($38 less 5%)

That book is not as difficult as we thought. Very simple dialogues between two kids Vicky and Skip. The book teaches how to pronounce the difficult Dino's names. Tyrannosaurus Rex --> Wow.. what a fierce dino!!! I like that.. ha..

My son is an animal fan. He likes all sort of animals and dinosaurs, making all their sound. He even knows how to make the sound of the fish and the elephant (I taught him.ha..a..)

by Ann Hayes, Karmen Thompson (Illustrator)

It introduces musical instruments in a vivid and interesting way. Basically, it is an orchestra formed by animals. Each type of animal plays one kind of instruments in an orchestra. E.g the chimpanzee is the piano. The lion wearing a suit is the conductor. Very big drawing and nice description of the intruments themselves. Nice!!

Kindergarten-Grade 3-- An attractive, well-planned book that introduces the orchestra's families (groups of like instruments) and its members. In clear and understandable prose, each instrument's function, especially as it relates to the other members of its family, and its sound are described in sometimes poetic phrases--"its song can be bright as laughter, light as air, soft as a whisper, or sad as a tear." Single- or double-page spreads feature a large watercolor illustration of an animal playing the instrument under discussion. Although most are aptly chosen for their instruments--a polar bear playing a bassoon and a lion as the conductor--some are disconcerting. The sight of a chimpanzee in a pink dress and frilly pantaloons sitting at a grand piano lessens the effectiveness of that instrument's description.

On each page, the book shows a baby animal asking 'Guess who my mummy is?'. This is followed by some key description of the mummy. In the middle of the right-hand page is a hole showing one part of the mummy. Then, the next page shows the mummy. Very nice for young kids.

I introduced about this book earlier on. I started letting my son read it. It is really humourous and my son cuddled the book in his arms and asked me to read to him this morning at 7:30am. I post more info here. I like this series better than the classical Dr Seuss set. So I have not bought yet.

It is an adorable book and we never get tired of reading it. And it really does teach an important lesson that even small acts can have big consequences. I like the sequence of events and the idea of how a little bug justed sneezed and a lot happen. This book is fun to read.I highly recommend it to all parents.
