Hi mums,
Life has been very busy since we moved here. Everything starts to form shapes now even still have heaps to go. At least he kids are at kindy.

Lydia and rleung,
I realize that there are lots of kids wearing glasses in HK and I was told that genetic makes a big part of this. Hope that they will feel and do things better once the eye sights are corrected. I am wearing glasses and I totally understand how it is like. But...wearing glasses isn't a strange thing anyway. You don't have to feel sad about it. Let the kids understand that it is okay to wear glasses, it doesn't mean that they are not cool. Being cool isn't from the appearance (Preston actually looks very smart with glasses!!) Tell them auntie Amy looks cool with her purple glasses on (well, they don't know me though...ahhaha).

Thanks for your support. Actually Preston is quite used to the glasses now. Only at school he feels a bit shy and reserved (comments from the teacher this week) after wearing the glasses but the teachers think he'll be OK soon. Maybe he's the only one wearing glasses and a bit odd from the rest of his classmates. He'll know you when we have gathereing later, right?

Yes, lots of people and very dusty. I have to clean the house everyday which I didn't have to do that in NZ. I haven't looked for playgroups for Luc yet cos' I am so busy with Zac's stuff (schooling). Everything needs to be done very early or as soon as possible in HK. I am feeling very tired and catching up sleeps.

Zac told me yesterday "there are lots of things to do in HK , I don't like it" (because we don't spend much time with him since we have arrived here. ) However, we are trying to settle better , then we will have our regular life style back , then we can spend more time with him. He is so bored at home because we haven't signed him up to any after school / weekend activities yet. We wanted to take them to the club house to play bowling this morning and found out that they were not allowed to do so (only 13 yrs or above). So, they felt abit upset again...Sigh..

The kids need to have more things to do especially outdoor activities. Hopefully that we can take them biking next weekend cos' we took their bikes over and I was told that there is a biking path close to our place. I still don't know lots of places around our place, I have to find out more soon such as clinic, hospital, library, different shops...So far I only know a few shopping malls...(a bit stressed~~~)

馬鞍山中心o既王啟超醫生, 對小朋友有耐性同細心~~
另外馬鞍山中心有條天橋通去圖書館架, o個頭有埋體育
館(有indoor playroom)同埋好大下o既公園 & swimming pool~~公園o個到有個智樂o羊o羊中心, 逢星期日有o向公園搞d game俾小朋友玩, 你得閒去逛逛啦~~

amy,我也感受到妳的壓力，一方面要照顧家庭，揍三個小朋友，另方面又要幫zac揾小學。妳都咪話唔頭痕，希望樣樣事快d settle down，enjoy your life in hkg.

我有朋友可借出三房屋給我們住，間屋有晒傢俬和厨房用具，不過遠就遠d，係元朗村屋，但就近天水圍。現在唔駛頭痕住屋問題囉。

多謝你關心 Zac, 佢中文真係好過以前, 識唱d 中文歌, 佢始終唔習慣同願意寫同聽中文! 我同佢報左一間津校, 一間直資, 津校未知第一輪既result, 但睇怕機會好微, 因為只得 5 分! 間直資應該唔收, 因為仲未收到acceptance 通知, 同埋問學校已通知所左得左既學生!所以係一定冇....

Zac interviewed 個日又做得唔好, 直頭冇mood 到唔願意答問題, 佢仲衰到同個interviewer 講 "Can you speak English to me?" 個interviewer 問 "Do I HAVE TO speak English to you?..Zac 答 "Yes".....之後d 問題又唔多願答, e.g. 人地問佢鐘意睇d 咩書, 佢答 "starwars", 人地又問佢Starwars 書講d 咩, 佢居然答 "starwars book is about starwars stuff" , 死未? 我問佢做咩唔講多d , 解釋比個 interviewer 知Starwars 書既內容, 點知佢話佢估個interviewer 都唔知咩係starwars, 所以費事解釋咁多! (你有冇見過d 咁唔掂既interviewee ????) 你話係咪激c我!

佢今日仲要同我講 "mum, you disappointed me, why do you want me to study at Chinese school? I want to study at English school...."

唉...今日又同個佬講左好耐有關佢選校既問題, 呢兩日會去睇下d international schools, 睇下佢地教幾多中文. 若可以過得去既話, 就比佢讀international school, 但可能要係外邊搵中文比佢讀! 我知佢係international school 一定讀得開心好多, 但中文就一定唔掂....真係唔想失去一個咁好係HK 學中文既好機會~~~唉! Vienna 就adapts 得好好, 佢d 中文發音都好正, 又識到d 好朋友, 佢係kindy 好受老師們歡迎, 所以佢好喜歡返學~~ 學好中文都係Vienna 同 Lukas 應該好d !!!

我呢個月真係好倦~~~ 身心疲累 :-( :-( :-(

amy,angie有和我說她返港，他們明年返港定居，好似你們的想法，希望Asher學多些中文。唉...好朋友個個都話回流，真捨不得你們！但我們仍會堅守留nz。

上次和妳傾電話，得知zac很不開心，我也很不開心！慢慢來吧！zac去到新的學習環境，又要學習中文，真的要一段時間適應。多多幫助他對學中文有興趣先，妳可以去圖書館借中文故事書、一家人set一段時間全講廣東話、聽中文故事cd....等，好等他不抗拒學中文。

我和妳的case相反，我們一家說廣東話，我每天有讀中文故事給她聽，去華人超市讀中文貨品她認和讀，因此她的中文程度不比香港小朋友底。相反她的英文程度不及這裡同年紀小朋友，她三歲入kindy，全完聽不懂鬼佬講乜，見到她十下十下個樣，真的好心傷！我問她明唔明老師講乜，她說唔明架，但好在她肯坐定定，聽唔明到無走開。之後我有幫她pick up多d英文，去圖書館借好淺的英文書(one picture one sentence)，我會用中文講一次，等佢明白個內容，之後我只讀英文，不會再翻譯。我也有帶她去library storytime，等佢聽多d英文。好奇妙....one day她就開始pick up英文，人家問她問題，她明白仲識講少少。她現階段好似bb未講野前識聽和明白指領個隻。所以我們也要一同努力加油！

zac interview表現差，我諗因為他抗佢讀中文學校，他不想中文學校收他？！他知不知道香港有國際學校讀呢？若我是妳，我會仍堅持讀local school，一來他仍細個，學語言能力強過大人，二來可教育他遇有困難，識得怎樣克服。當然家人的關懷和支持都不可少！努力！
