Yes, i do (though much less frequently than before nowadays) use home-made flash cards with 雞"也母"咁大隻+紅色字 to teach him both English and Chinese. It does work but I don't force him. He still can distinguish 'orangatan' from other long words. Of course he knows his name both Eng and Chin. 詳情 教育小組個邊有晒。 Reminded by the Einstein Never Used Flash Cards, I limit the use of cards but still play them with him. Sometimes he asked for them.

Like you, I read to him with my finger pointing to each of the word like 人肉karaoke. And, I will prompt him to find key words and ask if he sees something and if he sees commas/fullstop/exclamation mk/question mk..etc. He likes to find such punctuations. 我就打蛇隨log上,不知不覺就令佢喜歡文字。

Actually nothing special. Not that my son is particularly good la. You know how naughty he is.

BUT 要deposit $10000至有得+1%interest boh !
Will min deposit $1000 be only for existing / old customers ?
And will there be penalty on depositing $1000 only ?
Usually banks require min deposit of $5000 w/o imposing penalty charges ga boh.
If you r right(min deposit for Disney-bank and MMchequebook)，I will also open an a/c la。

And the a/c is only for customers of Priority Banking, Excel Banking and Easy Banking of SC.

As far as I know, you have to deposit HK$10,000 at first in order to get the piggy bank. If you cannot show that your a/c has the said balance, no piggy bank will be given out.

Thereafter, you are just required to maintain $10,000 cash balance on 30.9.05, 31.10.05, 30.11.05 and 31.12.05. That means you can withdraw any $$ you like besides those 4 specified dates. Otherwise, a $200 charge will be deducted.

But on the other hand, this My Dream A/c is compulsory linked to a ETC card (which is free of charge). However, if you cannot maintain DAILY AVERAGE BALANCE of HK$10,000 or above, a charge of $100 will be imposed.

So if you intend the withdraw $$ after opening, and put them back during last date of the month, you have to be careful la!!

You may apply a library card for your son. Then, every time you can have 12 quotas to borrow books la! For me, I have 24 quotas (me + 3 kids' card) to borrow books.
