其實我都想生twins呀,因為老公話呢一胎係twins都無問題,如果唔係, 都唔會再生多個..但我就覺得兩個就最prefect啦.

hello all,

I did my A/N visit last Sat and my doctor said my baby weighed 4.5 pounds (I'm now in week 31)... he said my baby is of L size and his head is of XL size... ooooooh!!! and he said my baby will weigh not less than 7 pounds... and may have potential to 8 pounds when he comes to the world!!!

I'm starting to be frightened of having C-section instead of delivery... and he said if he consider I need to have C-section, he'll do it for me when I'll be in week 38 (that means the 2nd day of my maternity leave!!!)... ooooo, what should I do?

I am also planning to have the c-section on my 2nd day of maternity leave.... I plan this on purpose such that I can have "1 day before and nearly 10 weeks afterwards", I think this is a good idea? how come you get worried? I will start my leave on Jul 19 and c-section on Jul 20...

我表妹個時生之前都有糖尿, 佢就好可憐, 要入醫院到住, 要跟營養師食糖尿餐, 醫生話如果唔 control, 阿 B 第日可能會有糖尿病, 因 delivery 個時會傳染喎, 嚴重 D 阿B 視力會有影響, 所以我表妹個時好乖咁跟足, 現在佢個仔都兩歲, 咩事都沒有, 所以小心 D 食野就得, control 到,

唔駛誓心, 小糖, 小飯, 就 OK

While I stayed in PWH, I heard the 營養師 explained to those mums sleeping next to me who needed to take the special meals... she said:

- around 1700 calories per day, around 6 "leung" of meat, can have unlimited of vegetables
- can only drink non-fat milk (I saw them distribute 2 packs to each mum every day)

So, this is what they take:
- Breakfast - congee with little meat
- Lunch - take 6 spoons of rice, small portion of meat, 1 boiled egg and can eat unlimited portion of vege
- Tea - non-fat milk with 3 pieces of biscuits
- Dinner - take 6 spoons of rice, small portion of meat and can eat unlimited portion of vege
-Supper - non-fat milk with 3 pieces of biscuits

Thanks for your sharing.

I don't know arrr... maybe I haven't got enough 'brave' or 'preparation' to have C-section la... coz I originally plan to have normal delivery (although I know my baby is on larger size than average since week 26!!!) and so I go swimming and leisure walk everyday... so as to facilitate my delivery process...

actually I think I'm worried abt my work... coz my hasty boss said I should complete all my tasks b4 maternity leave... and actually the workload now is on the peak... so... I'm abit down loh!

still I have to prep my bag to go to hospital, baby bed + accessories... busy at home too...

好似話要跟卡路里計算, 我表妹話個時佢係醫院一餐只可食一啖飯, 餓到佢死, 都唔可以食野, 不過我表妹個時真係肥左好多, 成50-60磅呀, 加上佢本身已經肥, 所以你唔駛誓心啦, 睇下報告先啦, 你都唔係好肥之 ma...

好似話血糖高會引至糖尿病, 我諗只係血糖高小小, 唔駛入院, 自己食小 d 就得, 如果有糖尿病, 有要小心D, 可能要入院, 因我老豆有糖尿病, 所以我要糖水 test , 好彩沒有事, 你屋企人有沒有糖尿病呀, 如果有就要更加小心

I think the difference between us is that my boss is nice to allow me to work from home if I don't need to have meetings and conference calls in the office, this is also becauuse I have walking problems and other problems earlier. This allows me to save some time and energy in the commute. This also makes me feel more comfortable in taking shorter period before delivery. Actually, I do support the idea of taking longer leave before delivery (e.g. Before-4-After6-) to allow enough time for developing a bigger BB...

Jollydophin,
I think we should try to avoid having 妊娠糖尿, a kind of 糖尿病 usually happens during pregnancy but will usually recover after the BB is delivered.

I guess the difference between 血糖高 and 糖尿病 is: 血糖高 is a symptom and if you have 血糖高, it can be detected by urine test, i.e. causing 糖尿. The illness (病) is called 糖尿病, and if this only happens during pregnancy, it calls 妊娠糖尿...

Others, AJ, emerald, I did not go to the 妊娠糖尿 talk, so this is my guess only. Do you find more info from the 妊娠糖尿 talk? I remember you 2 have attended that talk... right?

The 餐單 is not fixed... this is just a sample list and the usual meal that is served by the public hospitals. E.g. for breakfast, you can have wheat bread or rice noodle instead of congee... The important thing is "portion", i.e. you cannot eat too much of certain thing.

FYI, this is a general guideline:
