我同老公而家應該用緊呢隻insurance, 要co-pay $20 每次去obgyn, 咁份insurance 要成個family $2000 deductible 1 年, 咁要俾20% 醫院費同醫生費, 咁加加埋埋我生完都要大約俾 $3000美金到啦. 好肉尺... 我d朋友話你好似係香港去左私家醫院生仔咁... :cry: 不過我覺得生果陣都好安全下, 有幾個護士同自己個ob係到囉......

唔使唔該。賴粉在中式超市有得買﹐ 至於燒鵝﹐我從來都未見過有民度有燒鵝買﹐ 我而定想食片皮鴨

都唔知點解呢度D medical 咁死貴﹗ 如果冇買 insurance 就唔使生存﹐ 我用既 insurance 係 HMO﹐ 每次 co-pay 係 $10﹐ 睇 obgyn 做產檢﹐ 都係總共比左好似 $ 30﹐ 之後就唔使比啦。不過就要比 prescription ( vitamin ).

For the people who is has the health insurance without paying anything, usually is the HMO network type, for yours is the PPO and the 20% is not based on whatever the doctors or hospital bill the insurance, the fees are depend on what the insurance has allowed if the doctors or hospital is within the network of BCBS. Let say the OB/GYN charged you $7000 for the delivery fee but that doctor is within the BCBS and the insurance only allowed $4000, you will only be responsible for 20% of $4000 = $800 and is not calculate from $7000.
Hope you understand what I am trying to say.

My son started the nursery school when he was 2 years ond 8 mos old and he is not ready for the Pre-K (regular school) until next year Sept. Yes, he knows the color but not too well on the ABC, don't count on him, he is a very lazy boy and I didn't push him much. Yes, I agree with you, the kids from H.K. know much more than the ones in here and sometimes I feel like my son is like "1 piece of rice" too

Thank you so much for your explanation and I guess my husband and I will put $1500 to $2000 into the Health saving account. Even for worse case, we end up need to pay $3600 (max. according to plan, we can have $1500 to $2000 tax write off)

$3000 is high for vaginal birth but if you are having a C-section, then AIM is quite fair.

其實果3000 蚊係夾埋阿b既住院費同打針照顧護理諸如此類既費用, 原本唔使咁貴, 不過我住院住左2日, 如果第二朝就出左院就可以慳成千銀... 貴過住酒店!!!

My brother is a good cook, he will make turkey and whole bunch of food on thanksgiving too, you can buy those pre-made stuffing and put them into the turkey too.
About the school, yes, supposely, the children in here don't need to learn ABC or any writting skill until they started the pre-K year but seriously, I think a lot of people will start to teach them when they are around 3 years old, I guess at least they should able to regnonize the ABC before they are 4. My son's school has already asking him to write ABC and 123 a while ago but he is just so lazy and I think I should start to make him practice at home soon too. :-(

我冇查中國黃曆﹐ 因為美國時間又唔同香港﹐而呢度又有冬/夏令時間﹐ 都唔識睇。而家D屋價真係越黎越貴﹐ 不過D息口就平囉﹐ 所以可以負擔得起就快D買﹐ 否則到､時屋貴﹐ 利息貴就唔知點算﹗ 我地已經買左 townhouse 係 san jose 啦﹐ 希望可以在生BB之前搬啦。

Actually, my husband is US citizen and so I came to USA with B2 visa last Septemeber 2003 and got married here and change status here. Maybe San Jose is faster, I applied change of status on Nov, 03 and got my conditional green card on May,04. (less than 6 months) So, I don't know the process in Hong Kong...

We paid $1000 here to find a lawyer to file the application for us so we can ask him if we have any question.

我係bk 都見到d 人簽名管制ｄ內地產婦到香港生仔, 不過我真係唔知道佢地咁衰過半夜先check-in, 我生果陣都忍唔到痛, 俾我如果下午開始痛就忍唔到咁耐lu. 我不嬲都覺得係醫院做護士係好痛苦, 成日見生見死, 我有個朋友做護士, 佢都變左好多, 由一個好感性既人變左一個"化"左既人... 不過唔係咁又做唔到護士...
唉, 若果我真係有左, 我邊敢坐飛機返香港丫, 好似妥阿b 咁, 果時好想返香港探媽咪, 不過好驚坐飛機易流產, 所以四圍都唔敢去, 乖乖坐係屋企... :-(
