The St. Paul open day is only today right? I don't know that, otherwise i would take my son there to look look la - what a pity :-( :-(

Better saving for Stage 5 or above. e.g. Stage 8 more stories pack only HK$178 in spore vis as vis HKlist $336 (48% off)
Stage 1 biff and chip stry pack HK$102 in Spore vis a vis HKlist $160 (35 % off)

Of course this is subject to conversion rate and the postage if you send back to HK.

I have contacted Silver, she has very limited title left and can give 20% off only.

While you were happily chatting re books and Sing prey for the past few hrs, I've been

my son for practising the piano, doing the daily article on MyEnglishPal (e-learning), and part of his homework from school. :-( :-( :-( And have lost a ton of blood over these items.

Now you know why I wanted the pandan cake la.

They are readily available from the local bakeries too ga. So if you walk around you should see these.

While you talk books, I talk Sing food :

Gloria did you try the Hainan Chicken at Mandarin ? That should be the 2nd or 3rd-best available.
The best was from an old style tea house in Hainan 1st or 2nd Street which is somewhere near Raffles Hotel.
What about satay cooked by half-Malay-half-Chin (neung-yeh) ?
And there was another old style place selling very nice chicken-rice with ginger and spring onions.
And of course the meaty spare-ribs in hot pepper soup and Chin tea (tit koon yum).
And the fresh bread with kaya.

Yummy

I plan to go there with my son, likely next summer, using mileage on Sing Airlines.

, IFF I am not already broke by then. :-(

i think that the mandarin hainan chicken is just so and so. the best one is from a shop called 'man tong kee' (in cantonese pls) which is more for locals.

I would go to Spore again if the fare is as low as HK$650 as once promoted by SQ a few weeks ago.

since only mr yap has come across the case, better liaise direct with him otherwise there might be communication breakdown. You can't buy them in the shop but only by pre-order. If you wish to collect the books when you arriive, order 2-3 weeks b4 your trip. liaison by phone or by email to that Mr yap who is the store supervisor (ORCHARD MRT branch).

Remember they don't have al items. Kino is even worse.

Have you ever eaten a round, tall (4-5") sponge cake with a hole in the middle ? (the mould used to cook this type of sponge cake looks like a hotpot (foh woh)).

The pandan cake is exactly the same shape as this sponge cake, only that pandan cakes are greenish in colour, with a pleasant grassy type of smell, cos the pandan leaf is a type of herb for cooking (for the smell and the colour). Ask any Indo / Filipino maid and they should know.

It costs S$7 at the airport, S$5 at the bakeries in sing housing estates. And I am sure those in local bakeries taste even better !!

My son and mum together has already consumed 3/8 of the cake - my son alone had 2/8. (My mum cut the cake into 8 pcs.)
And my son is now beside me, telling me that the pandan cake tasted vvvv good !!

I just saw a very a good-looking aardvark on TV - Asia (Chin) channel. Somewhere in Taiwan.

I went to St. Paul on this afternoon around 2pm, only found a few books left on the tables and the price gone down to $5 each. However, I could not find any title I like, the books condition is not v good and some even damaged, so I end up got nothing. :-( :-(

Now I know which cake you ladies were talking about, after I read your detailed description on the cake. I agree – it is very yummy, very soft and smell good. But, I haven’t tried the pandan cake in Spore, I bought some from a Vietnamese shop in Sydney on my last trip.
