Today, it's my first prenatal visit. I am so excited to see my baby's heartbeat. It was an amazing experience. The doctor said my baby is smaller than 12 week, so my due date will be a week later... around Aug 10. I guess I mixed up the date of last M. :-P
Yesterday I went to Prince of Wales to test for Down's. My baby only have 4.8cm long, but I am very excited when I see him/her on screen waving his/her arms. . . Does anyone know the sex of the baby already?
emeraldlam,
My mom will take care of me, so no need to have 陪月, but I will have a maid to take care my baby when I am back to work. not yet confirm if she's going to be Pillipino or Indonesian. . . Any suggestion?
I am 12 week today (corrected by the ultrasound scan); I will see the doctor this Thursday to have Down Syndrom test. When the baby was 11 week, it was 4 cm long. I really the baby will grow bigger. Doctor said that is too soon to find out what the sex is.
Since I have tummy before having baby, I have already worn maternity pants for awhile.
Have you told you employer about it? I told mine last week and I am happy that my boss is very happy and supportive too, but I will try to "business as usual".
My parents just came to help me out in cooking and doing housework, so I won't need to hire people to help out.
PoohPoohMaMa,
So when will be your adjusted due date? I've told my boss and HR once I confirmed my pregnancy. 4cm in 11 week? But I remember you've gained some weight since pregnant, haven't you? Anyway, I think our babies have plenty of time to grow and 2nd trimester would definitely the golden months.
My due date changed to around Aug 10 now. I gained the weight, but it didn't go to the baby. It all goes to me!! I will need a lot of effort to lose weight after giving birth. :-(
Does anyone know if the "One-Stop Clinic for Assessment of Risk" test (charged $950) offered by Prince of Wales Hospital is the same test as those offered by Eastern Hospital?
I've registered with Eastern Hospital and will see the doctor on Feb 9 (since I'm over 35 yrs) but I'm not sure whether I should go for the One-Stop test at Prince of Wales.
You better confirm with the nurse/doctor. As far as I know from newspaper article, Prince of Wales are the only hospital in HK have the equipment, but that was dated last March.
Yesterday I went to Prince of Wales to check the One-stop test. I 'm 37 yrs and the test result as below:-
Crown-rump length (CRL) 73.3 mm
Nuchal translucency 2.3 mm
Adjusted risk for Trisomy 21 : 1 : 1557
(If 37 maternal age risk for Trisomy 21 : 1:157)
After the result I felt comfortable and I will cancel the
booking for water test on 4 Mar. 04. Since I am
worry about the process of water test and bring the
risk for my baby. And I know that my baby is a boy
after the ultrasound. It is very happy to see my
baby in the screen and he is quite active to move
his hand and foot frequently.
If you will try the one-stop test please sharing with us.
Josh-mom, Feb 9 will be my second visit actually, my first visit was on Jan 19. Since I'm 37 yrs old now and I need to get the consultation from a doctor (if you're younger, you don't need to do this).
WL, I've called Prince of Wales for the appointment and am waiting for their callback. I think it's a good idea to perform this test. Thanks for sharing the test results with us.
