Hoo.. Rose-mag,
that will be the "lot" problem, you need to make sure you don't use the rest of that "lot number" and return it to lansinoh or get refund as you did.
I use Gerber and the first year, playtex and avent as well.
so far, I don't really have any problem.
So, now, you need to change the big bag, to keep the small single storage bag clean.
Then if you can not remove the milk before you defroze the milk, you need to initiate a second sterile storage bag, cover over the "leaked" bag, before you warm it up.. the way to save your "blood""sweat"..
So far, this 10 months, it is fine for me to use Lansinoh.. so, don;t lose the trust with this brand.
Don't discard the milk, they are clean.
Just need to do more preparation before use, that's it.

poor you, I'm using Gerber, then put it in a ziploc before putting it to freezer, my freezer is too small to put in boxes, touch wood so far no problem.

by the way, how long exactly can frozen breast milk be stored? I use those storing for 2 months to bath Andrea once they reach 2 months sharp, but some people said it can be stored for 3 months

I have no mood to talk la, very down because of my helper. I want to fire her and find another one, but many helpers with local experience refuse to take up the job once they know they need to take care of baby. c6 and I can't compromise for this stupid one too, he thinks she's still "teachable", but I totally lost confident on her after the water temperature issue, of course there are still so many minor mistakes, this is very annoying, very headache and I guess I'm getting depressed because of this stupid maid :-( :-( :-(

Expert said, for common 2 doors fridge, Frozen breast milk is good for approx 2-3 months. it means, it really depend on the position you put your BF, if you put them at the back and bottom layer, which always covered by all other frozen food. In this way, the Breast milk will be good thru 3 months, as it can always keep frozen.
However, if the freezer is really small and storage bags are always explose.. in this case.. the breast milk may be some degree of "on the progress of Defrose".. then Expert said.. it will only good for 2 months.

Hire those girls from 印尼.. will they be better?

Will Ying EE still be capable to take care of Gabriel when she comes back? cause Gabriel is almost one, should be very engerenic.

I did check on Indo, but those with local experience don't want to take an offer with baby and cats, giving them muc more workload. Those with no experience can't understand cantonese so end up will will have problem to communicate with my mom. My current maid also got no experience before, and she got NO sense at all, I'm just afraid to fall to the same trap. I try to get help from my XYX!#$%99, but she refused immendiately cause she needs to look after her favorite grand SON.

Thanks for your help, I'll check up the mother goose first, is there DVD in the States or just CD? When did you let Amanda learn Spanish/Russian? I don't mean to ask you to let Gabriel to learn French, just wonder if I should start it early je...

Sorry that I did not check message at weekdays this week.. as I work Mon to Fri from now on until end of December, in these period, I can check email and BK when I don't need to work next day only.. like tonight (as tomorrow is thanksgiving.)
How are you now? What is the cause of the fever?
I will BF Gabriel only if I have no stock, otherwise, I will just use the express BF.. as if I have a fever, I will be dehydrated.. also, during fever, your body burnt calories, so the BF's fat (calories) will be lower than normal. That's mean you may need to feed more often (end up, you don't have time to take a good rest==> which leads to==> lower mil flow!!!)
I will pump and dump my milk (as I have stock), or if I don't have much left, I will mark it with a star before I frozen it {the milk will not be used unless I run out of all my milk}.
About the maid.. I know that it is not easy to find a good one.. so, let's cross our finger.
Gabriel is having his 4th day fever, paedi said that he will continue the fever for 3 more days, what we have to do, is giving him nebulizer treatment every 4 hours to open up his airway, he is in my bed again.. to make sure his temp is OK.. and also, having to give treatment thru the night.
He refused to drink juice.. not even 1 sips.. he only takes BF from bottle or skin to skin.. and very limited solid food. Poor baby!
99.. they all miserable!
I got no commend of all of them (for mine and all others).. haha

Ying EE will finish Chemo at end of December, and she will go to china to visit her family over there.. at about March, she will be back, by that time.. she will just like normal person.. like 葉麗儀..
even now, we meet each other after she has her chemo a week after.. we go yumcha飲茶.. her appetite is good, ability of movement, and energy level is 100% like me.. carry Gabriel on 1 arm and the other to carry the diaper bag walk 20 steps downstair to find me.. ( I was in the bathroom with Amanda) and Gabriel made a poopoo.. hee hee..

she brings Gabriel down by herself ( And Gabriel loves to stick wth her.. he still feel familiar with Ying EE). Amanda will follow Ying EE to go everywhere as well.. Both my kids trust Ying EE.. they are "so" used to live with her.
I don't really treat Ying EE as a maid.. even before she diagnosis Cancer. She acts like my elder sister to take care of me. If she noticed that my milk supply drops, she will go and make chicken feet soup for me ..very 自動自覺.. if she sleeps with Gabriel at nap time, I will wash and do the laundry.. I don't really care as she takes good care of me and my children. When she has her day off, she will go and shop for our home. haha.. she.. just like my God mom some time (she is only 40years old this year).

They do have all kind of DVD like baby esintin (some is from birth and birth &up) and all other educational DVD or sing along read along CD(3 &up)..
some of them have a 放影機 (5&up)
Amanda learns Russian when she was 2 (and English as well), when she was 4 years old (this August) she asks if she can learn Spanish, so we let her to take the spanish class at school too. Now she is asking if she can also take Japanese class.. I objected it. as I don't want her to get mess up.. she can listen, speak,& read Russian, listen and speak Spanish, fluently in English, able to listen and speak Chinese, once she can fluently in Spanish and Russian, I will let her learn Japanese.
For Gabriel.. he will attend the same day care as Amanda did.. this Russian day care did a really tough job for us. Amanda is a very demanding child.. and super energenic child.. they really take very good care of her.
Although, it is expensive, but I would say that it's worth.

long time no talk, I've read your reply but really got no time to type at all. by the way, your relationship with Ying EE and her cancer recovery pathway impress me a lot!

my super good helper finally resigned, she gave us 1 month's notice but c6 insisted to have her left immediately on Nov 25. finally I talked to by boss and get this week off, don't know what should I do for next week. my mom got sick too... Andrea is super "sticky" when she sees me home, I need to take care of her and try to do as much house work as I can otherwise my mom will be doing the work, it's a big mess, super chaotic here :-( :-( :-(

on the day my #$%maid resigned, I was so mad and almost didn't eat the whole day, finally I used the milk pumped on that day to bath Andrea

can I let Andrea eat meat now?

there are so much more I want to talk to you, but better zzz now, or won't be getting any sleep when Andrea gets up

Yup, you can start with chicken, and pork.. puree the meat. serve with congee or rice puree or potato mash..
Keep the seafood (fish) after 1 year old if possible, as CU (chinese university in hk) has a research done at 2005 .. release information about the emergency room admission about food allergy (from 5 months old -11months old).
If infant has allergy shock in such a young age, that will hit the infant very bad and may end up to have food allergy for the rest of their lives.
It is not just the problem she can not eat that food for the rest of her life.. the problem is -- she will have a hard time go thru the day care life, and eat outdoor. Because the food preparation will also be a problem. WHO WILL ABLE TO WASH ALL UTENSIL JUST BECAUSE SHE HAS THAT ALLERGY?
you need to mark it down on Andrea's diary on the day you introduce new food to her. And in that 3 days, no more new food to be given to Andrea, that is the way to observe for food allergy.

Live in Overseas is different. our lives are very simple.. I have never treat Ying EE as a maid, she just likes my god sister.. she always treat my son as her son.. and we always laugh to Gabriel that he got mixed up.. he is so happy every night when it is bed time, and it is their personal time.. We don't expect too much.. like, you don't expect your mom to do this and that.. Ying EE happy with the salary we gave her, and we are happy that Amanda and Gabriel got a nice buddy. I do housework very much.. as I love to make thing nice and neat, I will do laundry with Ying EE.. some times, I do dinner, and some times she does.. the best thing is.. when she notices that my milk supply drop, she will start to push me to eat a lot, and drink a lot, and make special chinese soup. If not because of Ying EE.. I my give up BF already.. because it is really a hard and long term fight (between sleep, rest and work). We all know that she is fighting for her cancer and we all support her very well, Gabriel does visit his "2nd mom" every few weeks for mora support!

你試下用人奶塗喺乳頭，等佢自然乾，如果可以,俾乳頭多啲接觸空氣（即係唔好wear bra & nursing pads), 就好似你整損手指唔用藥水膠布，唔好up住傷口嘅原理一樣。你用泵可以先用細power剌激乳頭，等有let down 先用higher power會冇咁傷。

你係咪用好熱嘅水洗奶咀？如果係就可能係啲膠硬化，咁你摸洛個奶咀係咪冇原本咁軟？咁就唯有換新。你用完奶咀可以用温水同清潔液洗，跟住一次過用steamer or sterilizer。

my new pc can't regonize my writing board... so I can not write chinese..

for all teats, you just need to use the warm water with the mild bottle detergent, raise at least 10 sec.. that should be clean, then use the normal bottle steriliser.
Extremely high temperature on the plastic teats will cause the teats degenerated. As your baby is only 20+ days old, the teats is brand new.. so it mostly because of the water temperature.

For your nipple care, use Rose-mag's method, she is absolutely correct! I did that too!
Do not skip pumping, not even 1 day, as your breast feeding has not complete established.. once you stopped pumping for a day, you will feel it really difficult to catch up again.
I will just not wear my bra, and use the bf to moist the area with skin breakdown. and wait until air dry.. it will heal very soon.

Amanda 又唔肯食樽啦。之前佢肯用樽，我老公叫我不如完全用樽，但我想又skin to skin 又bottle feed，所以一向都只係夜奶先用樽，佢只係食2－3安。前幾日，佢連夜奶都唔飲，結果一日5－6餐都係埋身餵。點知星期四我要出街，阿女肚餓，老公用樽餵，食咗1安就開始喊唔食，老公用針筒餵，佢仲喊得緊要，我返到嚟睇我叫老公唔好用針筒，驚阿女濁親，我calm down 阿女，skin to skin 佢直情咬住唔放食咗好耐。於是我知道其實阿女係想skin to skin, 所以夜奶食咁少，最近仲戒咗。琴日，我try both, 証實我想嘅係事實。今日開始齋俾樽，結果佢一路食一路喊，用條脷頂返個樽出嚟，食一安就瞓，唔够30分鐘就醒，醒咗我又餵，次次都係咁，今朝我已經來來回回餵咗5次。Gabriel 果時係咪咁，我應該完全唔埋身，等Amanda surrender 咗先？我驚佢以後唔肯埋身。定跟第時返工個schedule，放工之後埋身？佢唔知會唔會一路唔食等埋身果兩次先食。我姑仔朋友個BB就係喺daycare center 全日唔食奶，等媽咪放工接返佢先skin to skin。我仲有一個月就要返工，好担心阿女咁樣唔知點算。睇倒佢望住我好可憐個樣，我好feel guilty，但我知唔狠心就一定教唔倒。

as 英EE俾 Gabriel 嘅 main caregiver, so 我係俾英EE 用bottle 餵Gabriel, 我就skin to skin Gabriel..
介咗夜奶.. OK 喎! 等Amanda 日頭食飽啲.. otherwise, 你會好辛苦!
我係返工pump 奶, 放工skin to skin 嘅... as 我係看夜.. so it is prefect.
你而家仲可以日頭skin to skin, 但要隔餐改bottle feed..
then, end up, 你返工前skin to skin, 返工pump 奶, 放工skin to skin, bed time pump奶.. weekend skin to skin 架喇

ok, finally can have 2 hands to type, so I'm back :mrgreen:

I just bought a mini blender, will start preparing meat to Andrea. I don't know what's wrong with her, she's not drinking milk in these 2 days, so hard to put the bottle to her mouth, but don't know why she seems drinking more with formula then BF

I'm home for this week, she's very 痴身in these 2 days, now allowing me to go to anywhere, and also got very bad temper, whenever there's thing she doesn't like, she'll yell and scream, what should I do with it? I'm like totally losing control with her :-(

I suggest to send her over to day care, but c6 still doesn't agree and asked me to stay home until she can go to pre-nusery, but the thing is if I quit my job now, I may not get it back any more... so headache, c6 keeps telling Andrea that 媽媽唔要你, sending you to day care, 唉. If I got a helper as nice and helpful as Ying EE, I won't mind to do stuffs for her too, but too bad mine wasn't helpful at all. I just found that she didn't clean Andrea's toys at all but she always told me she did when I asked her! is Ying EE your first nanny? I guess you are very lucky to have her

Ha Ha.. your hubby is so funny and Bad bad man too..
I have to say.. they all have their temper, as they can not talk, but at the same time, they have so many things to tell.. therefore, they screw up.. and the way to express.. is scream and yell!!! woo wooo!!!!!!

You gonna be patience.. as you need to deal with that at least until Andrea turns 2, and use the HUMAN LANGUAGE to talk back to you.. haha

Guess what? the formula is really sweet, taste like honey water (those formula in hk).. therefore, Kids stick with it. The taste is awful in US (with Iron), so Kids move to whole milk when they turn 1 year old. Also, why kids in hk will suffer from tooth decay, but kids in US.. (less risk)
therefore, Andrea may like Formula more than breast milk, as BF doesn't taste as sweet as formula.

Gabriel moves his step from Blend food to cut food.. our blender is for Amanda.. again.. Amanda loves 肉餅.. so we use the blender to blend the meat for Amanda.

Hey, send Andrea to Nursey 育嬰院, they do a great job in hk.. when I was in hk, at 1993-94, I was trained in LWLTI as a child care worker, the nurseries in HK really do their good job. I trust the nursery (which runs by the Social work dept 社署) very much!

係呀，终於搵倒個中文program 同老公install Chinese window，不過打中文始终比較慢，但同香港果邊啲媽咪就比較易傾計。叫你老公唔好同女女講媽媽唔要佢，BB會信以為真，會唔開心更情緒化。我以前都以為BB咁細唔明，其實就算我個Amanda 2 號我閙佢都會匾咀喊，所以千祁唔好俾BB以為你真係會唔要佢，咁你想佢唔attach to 你都幾難。

我今朝9：30俾skin to skin 後，12：30PM我媽咪餵樽，Amanda一D都唔肯，仲喊到好大聲，媽咪慢慢餵，到2：00至食倒1安，中間阿女瞓咗2次，次次一陣就醒，醒咗俾佢食又大喊，到4：00我出街老公成功餵倒2安，夜晚skin to skin，佢勁食咬咗好耐，點知唔知係唔係食得太急，阿女突然嘔咗好多奶出嚟，琴晚都係咁，D衫仔包被仔全部都係奶，幾由頭換到落腳，我阿媽話女女食得太急，嘔番出嚟會舒服D，叫我唔駛咁驚。但係我真係好擔心阿女嘅腸胃會差，佢喊得犀利又會咳到嘔，依家我真係好擔心，但我同老心倾過，我知我冇得揀，老公同我都feel guilty and bad but what can we do? 只有希望女女唔好咁stubborn辛苦自已。:-( :-(
