Hi LSW,

No need to order "閱讀123進階讀本--找不到國小" for me from CW cos I've already reserved this book from a HK bookshop la. This bookshop held a minor book fair at Kv's school on parents' day last month. They mainly sell Taiwan chin books and they offer 25% discount to students of Kv's school.

Price of book after discount should be a bit more expensive than placing order directly from Taiwan cos they use exchange rate of HK$1=NTD3. As I just need 1 book, so I just order from them for my convenience.

Actually this is a good lesson for your kids to learn the feelings of "不捨" and to face the fact ... something that is out of their control and expectation. It's also a kind of respect --> respect other people's will. I bet they can handle it well and will soon recover from bad feelings.

Bun mui seems very eager to work in Canada!! I know one mum (of Kv's kinder classmate) who brought their bun-mui to Canada for holiday last Summer. She needed the helper to come along cos she had 2 kids (age 5 and age 4 ) to take care of. On the last day of their stay in Canada, her bun-mui just leave the house, bringing her passport and luggage, without saying a word!! That's unbelivable to her cos she treated the maid very well and the maid also treated their kids so well.....

Then they reported this to the Canada police and reported to Immigration when they came back to HK.

The mum had come across a very difficult times ....but now she got another good maid, but won't bring her out to Canada next time!!

Yes, the amount for cost + US shipping + tax = what I posted.
Can wait till the first few days of April.
Need to settle cr card bill ~8 or 9 Apr.
My cousin will come back to HK ~15March,
and I will know the postage from US ==> HK by then.

If you bank in the $ now I will only spend it all,
so pls wait till end March / early Apr,
after my Sing trip. :loveliness:

And IOU for the TW bks, which is nearly the same sum.
Maybe we will know your TW bks bill first woh.
Actually I checked my cr card $$ online, haven't received the statement yet.

Thanks for your care. Just registered in 家務通 for a temporary part time maid. Test my luck la.

If I had not seen my maid's case, I would not believe how easy it is for a Filipino maid to get a job in Canada. There are lots of jobs like day centre workers and live in maids in Canada. After working there for 3 years, the maid can then apply for PR. Her family can then apply for emigration to Canada. The social welfare is so much better than in Philippines.

She told me her monthly salary will be CAD 2,000. Much much better than in Hong Kong and elsewhere.

I have come across this case when my girl was 4 years old. My maid has just worked for us for 6 months and went to Canada.

OH, it is really common for maid apply to Canada. My previous maid was went to Canada as well , she only worked with us around 1 yr.

As i know, they need to get the reference letter from HK's employer. so i knew she will resign soon. For my maid -- Canada is their target, HK is just a stepping stone.
