Same as my son. He's never in the mood for homework. No self-motivation, 冇計!

On the other hand, he's always happy as he 對自己要求唔高. He got 83 marks in the recent Chinese test. I guessed there would be a lot others getting better marks like 90+. I teased him that he should have studied harder for getting better marks. He told me that the passing mark is 60 and 83 marks is way above that. He also told me that 邊嗰邊嗰 got 82.5 marks only, which was lower than his. You see, he always compares himself with the worse but not with the better. So, I give up la. I have adjusted my expectation to a new lower level.... 大家開心,無壓力!

SAME AS MY SON!! no-motivation. He even don't care of his homework which are just given by his school every week only(not everyday).

Every Sunday, i need to remind him for his homework and even if he done all his homeworks. He can forgot to hand in to his teacher.

I'm glad he is not study at traditional school, if not, i will listen the complaint of his teacher everyday.

agreed with you. I have adjusted my expectation, lower expectation, lower pressure == more happy life, if not, ...............
you will die many cells, but he will remain unchange.

Remember: 求學不是求分數 :)

I trust it's not good to put emphasis on "marks". Actually if kids can upgrade their knowledge through the learning process and keep up their interest and curiosity in active learning, he can get the most benefits.

Yes, agree. Marks are not that important.

But how to motivate him for continual improvement and upgrade is a big challenge!! He is so satisfied with what he already has.

i'm back, just arrived 2 days ago, still feeling tired. Gain a bit weight I guess as I can see myself look like a round ball on my face!

BTW, I've cut my hair, short hair now

Piglet says the same to me when I ask whether he is ashamed with his results.
The problem is, he doesn't 求知識 either.

He just 求 eat, sleep, play, TV.....

喺呀, To lower our expectation is a smart act. 要求多了而他達不到,會形成雙方壓力. 就算強逼他做到, 他可能會產生對那事厭惡, 最終win the battle, lose the war, 仲衰!!

Yes, a real big challenge to parents like us!!

However, we're the most trustable person that our kids can rely on..... so gotta grow (in mind and soul) with our kids to face the challenge together.
