Actually the price of 《字詞樂園》published by CP is almost half of Taiwan version 《字的童話》.

If your son likes Lego, you may consider Fishchertechnik. They are good too!

I only know that there are diff generations of Mindstorm (diff versions).
The older version looks like a car and you can add wheels to make it work like diff types of machines.
The robot is the newer version.
I did not buy.
The accessories are quite expensive, eg solar power, colour sensor, .... all US$3x@.
I think piglet played with the car version at school ECA Lego course.
There is a promotion now in USA Lego, buy Mindstorm robot and you get a free bluetooth USB worth US$3x.xx.
Sometimes the Mindstorm robot is sold in Jusco or Brick Shop at ~20% discount.

Last day of Term 2 Exam for piglet today, then 2 days of TSA exams.

From 25 June on they have half day school, dismiss after lunch ~1:20pm. And 4 days of holidays before genuine summer hols. Several visits arranged for the half day schools, eg organic farm, HK History Museum.

Effective summer hols = from 17 July onwards cos no need to go to school on 17 and 18 July.

Have just got Kv's report card this morning.

All A in Chin/Eng/Math except GS which is A+.

Overall grading is A compared with class average of A-.

He got school award of "勤奮向學獎" too!

Written comment:
Chin - 能投入課堂活動，字體工整
Eng - Very reponsive in Eng lessons. Capable to write fluently and with creativity.
Math: 基礎穩固，反應敏捷，能掌握應用題的解答技巧
Overall: 活潑的孩子，但宜學習與人相處之道，學習態度尚算認真

i saw the link briefly, is it something like we add the $$ to that co. and then deduct at my taobo's account accoordingly when i purchase. i think it is not safe although the exchange rate is cheaper than visa card. RMB really rise a lot compare with one month ago or previous's order. Better search more good stuff and buy it now, then it is around 5%-10% discount if you order later. just joking.

For the Lego-mindstorm, i just thinking/seriously consider ja. Really expensive items. need to deep thinking about it. i just thinking in alternative, i buy one big item for him to try at home equal to the cost of the Lego's course fee......

Your boy is brilliant! You must be very proud of him. I am impressed that his teacher cares to write specific remarks about each child. I wish my son's teachers can do that too. Honestly, getting the school report in person or not doesn't really make any difference at all!

I have been very busy at work these 2 weeks. Still have a few proposals pending. Will try to get back to u on Hokkaido. But are u bothered by the earthquake? I was invited to bring my son to Disneyland today, I felt so bad that I had to keep my son at home. But look at the weather, it isn't that bad afterall.

My office will be moving in a month, start packing my personal stuff, can't imagine how can I have so many stock (toys, misc, exp books) some are even duplicated. 唉！

Our school requires BOTH PARENTS coming to school on Parents' Day to meet the class teacher and get the report card in person.

If you cannot make it, you have to apply to headmistress in writing stating the reason and they will make another appointment with you the other day. Very Strict!

Re the NXT Mindstorm set in the link

I showed piglet the image in the link last night,
and he said it wasn't the same as what he played with in school ECA Lego course.

Actually for most of the educational materials I bought, Kv only tried once or just part of it. That's why I have a lot to resell and they are like brandnew!! $$ gone .....

For the Math set, I only played with him the addition, subtraction, clock and time table.
