My friend did not eat any prawns while she was pregnant, but her two girls are both allergic to prawns.
I also know a woman who has 3 sons, and they are all allergic to egg. She said with her first son, she had egg during pregnancy, with her second she avoided it - but still had the allergy so she ate egg in moderation for the 3rd son.
I asked an allergy specialist, he said what you eat during pregnancy does not affect the chance of your child having allergies. His recommendation is to eat everything in moderation. He thinks avoiding certain food / over eating certain food may increase the chance of allergies.
Food allergy is very common in Australia - 1 in 10 kids have it. My son has food allergies too, and it covers food that I didn't have/ have it in moderation and have lots during my pregnancy.
I don't know if that helps with anyone.
