Yes. It's a matter of preference. One's candy can be another person's poison.
I'm living in an apartment (gross area 900+ sq. ft.) with a diamond shape living room (not Whampoa Garden). There's a "triangle" shape TV cabinet. The distance between the sofa and the CRT TV is 10 ft.
For the WPG flat that I mentioned in my last posting (which is resided by my relatives), they place a L-shape sofa on the short edge wall cos it faces the sea-view directly. The distance is about 12 ft from a CRT TV.
I read an issue of 置業家居 about a month ago about "Feng Shui". The "Feng Shui" master said diamond shape flats are the best in terms of Feng Shui. I don't know whether it's true or not. But one co-incidence is that as soon as we completed the buying transaction of our current home, my husband was promoted.
I agree that many of the real luxury flats on the Island side (in North Point, Tin Hau, East mid-levels) are far better than the new "luxury apartments". If I have a chance to move to a bigger apartment, I will probably choose an apartment from the 2nd hand market rather than buying a brand new flat.
