4 room is already better than my first delivery when I gave birth in HK. I delivered in HK gov hospital, you can't choose the doctor for delivery & also the way of delivery. And, more than 10people in one room. I chose gov one here becos the cost difference between gov & private is so great.

SG govt hospital nowadays is pretty good.. for KKH, i choose The Private Suite, think it is quite like those in private hospital. environment is very good, relaxing. The dr for delivery is same as the one for check up. maybe u shld consider come back for delivery.. but i not sure if u go back HK when ur bb is too young, is it ok..
during my last trip to HK, i find the standard in the clinic not as good as here, and also in servicing industry, is worse.
I have also check from some of my friends about the bill. It's should be <$1000 if stay in 4 bedded room & even don't have to pay if you stay in 6 bedded room (for KKH & don't choose dr) Do you choose the dr for your delivery? If don't include the checkup, how much is the exact amt on the day of discharge?
My hubby had actually agreed to let me deliver in SIngapore & I can even stay there till bb is 6 mths old. However, now is my problem lah! My HK visa will end on June next yr so I will need to rush back for renewal before the expiry date :-( cos my EDD is around 22 April 07 ... that means I need to come back to HK when bb is around 1.5mths. I'm thinking of staying in Singapore till bb is 6 mths (so I can have more rest) & at that time she/ he is big enough then I think I can have the ability to look after 2 kids. I really don't think of employing maid cos I will be tied up & I can't go back to Singapore anytime I want. And, I also don't want to ask my mother-in-law to help lah! Our living culture is difference, I scare there will be even more conflict.
KKH will not be my first choice becos my parents is staying at Simei & Eastshore will be the neastest. If I decide to give birth in Sin, I will need to go back before 32wks. Before delivery, I still need to go for checkup for another 2mths. I think it will be quite far for me to travel to KKH for checkup & also I still need to look after my son. My son will follow me to Sin for that few months.

think i paid abt $1500 if exclude checkup? cannot remember.. as hospital send the bill, then just pay.. hehe.. i told my dr want to stick with him for delivery. not sure is there any difference in bill if choose the dr who do check up for delivery?
yah if u stay in east, then better find one near ur hospital. in time of emergency, distance does matter.
r u able to renew ur visa now? i think maybe the immigration office will treat u as exception and renew now leh.. jsut give it a try, no harm. but can save a lot of trouble.. can understnad ur struggle, leaving a bb and a toddler at home.. not easy ah..
also another thing to remind u is the vaccination. maybe u shld check out whether the vacci in HK is same as in SG or not? if ur bb did some vacci here then do the rest in HK, no prob bo?
i really admire u, can handle kids by urself.. another reason hindering me to move to HK immediately is i lack confidence in handling my son by myself.. esp meal time.. what u cook for ur son?

maybe u can ask immigration whether u can renew ur visa now for a longer time? think if they kind enough, shld treat ur case as exception and grant it? it can save a lot of trouble.. not easy for u to leave ur 2 kids at home alone ah.. can understnad ur struggle..
another thing maybe u need to check out whether the vaccination in HK is same in SG bo? coz the first 6mth a lot of vacci leh.. a frend of mine's hubby will go work in Shang hai, while she will deliver in SG in Nov.. she a bit worried abt the vacci quality or what is diff from here.
It's so nice for you to remind me about the vaccination. Is it possible that you give me the detail from newborn to 6 mths? The vacci quality should be better in sg.
Is this 5-in-1 or 6-in-1? My son have the injection at the HK polyclinic (free of charge) therefore I think it's quite difference. I think it's old type. They need to have injection every month from birth to 6 mths.
O! not 5-in-1 or 6-in-1. Yap! it's 3-in-1 (old type) so it's free of charge. So, when your bb came back which type of vaccine did he have? Is HK & Malaysia having the same type? I had checked with the doctor here, he told me if it's 5-in-1 or 6-in-1 it should be the same for all country.

oh yes, last time when i came back my boy is just only 1month and 1weeks. he already have the 1st and 2nd injection for hep. B. then when we back here, i go and ask the paediatric about 5-in-one, so he have the 5-in-one and pneumococci injection here when 2nd and 4th month, at the 6th month is 6-in-one and pneumococci.
the different between 5 and 6-in-one is 6-in-one included hep.B. for the detail, may be i go back and check the vaccination record book first.
I think if I stick to the 5-in 1 or 6-in-1, it should't be a problem. Just that I can't have the FOC service this time. Heehee ..... Thanks you so much! I will wait for your info.

i think the one my son take is traditional one. coz he get slight allergy to 5-in-1, so dr give him tradition one instead.
i not sure the list i give u is 5 in 1 or not, think just a guideline what need to be given...

5 in 1 included: 白喉,百日咳,破傷風,polio and Hib.
3 in 1is only 白喉,百日咳,破傷風 and oral polio.
until 6 month take 6 in 1 included hep. B
