Yes, 'The Minpins' is used by ACL in Summer Eng course as teaching materials.

Kv said 'The Minpins' is interesting wor.... not scarry gar.

yes la. They start to play this week. My son starts to creat the mini's robot (first stage) and he learns the computer's programme - similar to the LEAD's one.

The programme can control the robot to go straight, turn left/right, some sentences such as Hello, How are you, etc.

Later for upper stages, can set the programme with the sensor/bulk etc.

i have only knew the info. at this stages jar. very complicaed.

i am glad that he know the concept for the computer programme and how to set the programme to control the robot.

No bor. the teacher = my honey.
But the software has the clearly instruction with step to step. easy to understand.
The software has up to 40+ different programme( educational version). The Lego state that it is for 8+ years old.

What i knew at the very first stage as i didn't take a look deeply for the software.

They set up the base of the robot using the bricks (technic's ones), the software will teach you step by step how to create it. add the CPU (the heart of the robot).

2nd -- they set up the programme (1st level), like 2 steps up, 2 steps left, 2 steps back etc. after that, you can set say Hello, 2 steps up, say How are you. something like that . Using the cables to transfer to the CPU.

my son said he will need to learn how to use the sensor -- sound control, light control with bulk, some others sensor which i can't remember.

e.g. for sound control -- my son told me only, not sure if it is correct:
if you set with the sensor -- if the sensor listen one sound then will go up two steps like this.

very complex and my honey said even he need to read for the instruction more details for the sensor.

Lego Mindstorms has two versions:

toy version -- $2999.99 (fixed price)
i have asked TA, they offer $2309 after discount (20% off), you can ask Causeway way branch as they have stock on hand. i ask them to check for the price and after 2 weeks, they ordered and ask me to pick up???
very confuse and they said they can either return to Lego or release to sell. So if you decide to buy this one, you can contact TA, they have stock. For the toy version, TA is cheapest.

educational version -- around $3500-4000

The difference between toy and educational:

9797教育版和8527玩具版的分别:

9797 多了以下超级好用又超值的东西:
1.	多了玩具版没有的,一颗锂电池	$500
2.	比玩具版多一个触觉传感器,所以有二个!!	$200
3.	多了玩具版没有的,三个灯炮	$50x3
4.	多了一个精美的储存胶箱(没有售卖)	约$100
5.	多了三条转接线可转接前一代的传感器及马达,等于是向下兼容!!	$20x3
8527 较优胜的东西:
1.	组件数目8527有557件，而9797只有431件。 9797可购买9648配件库671件，大幅增加配件数量。

Did you check with TA in Causeway Bay or Mkk ? Must avoid that particular shop.

How come you check the px and they just went ahead to place the order ?
