Hi ngmammy,

Thanks. I'm still looking around Chatswood to find out what I can get here. The most important is what I can get for my baby such as doctor, playgroup, childcare, kids activity, etc.

And my stuff is not arrived yet, probably mid or the end of this month. My home now has got nothing

So, around the train station? For me it will be somewhere around Chatswood from St. Leonards up to Gordon... Chatswood itself is too expensive, but may fianlly have to live there as it's more convinence.

So are you a full time mum now? I heard from some other Sydney mums that it takes couple of months in order to settle now, how are you doing?

Need to look for a child care center, a playgroup for my 2 yr old boy, Harris. Yours is 10 months, right? Any plans to occupy him?

Hi Harris_ma,

Yes, it's really close to train station. It's a rental apartment and really really expensive

very difficult to find a rental premise here ... it was quite nervious ...

It's very convenience living in Chatswood. I probably no need to purchase a car if I still live here in the future ... but I'll take the driving test first anyway ...

I'm a full-time mum. Now searching for everyting here ... need some more time to settle down. I'm currently going to attend the storytime in the local library twice a week with my bb (Karson) ... there are a lot of kids to play with him, even though he doesn't know how to play with them yet. It's good for him.

yes, I can imagine how you feel. Most importantly, you have the stuff necessary for your little baby.

I've got another problem - how to toilet trained a 2 yrs boy? My little Harris refused to use either potty or toilet... will the day care center offer toilet training?

Him, his wife, and both his daughters are all doctors. They do have another practise elsewhere, so not sure which one will be there - you have to check. Him & his wife have been our family doctor for the last 30 years - very good, can speak Cantonese & English.

Hello all Sydney moms,

Anyone heard about "The Lady of Fatima" and "St.Ursula" primary schools in Kingsgrove? I only know that both of them are Catholic Schools, the first one is co-edu and the second one is for girls only.

Please give me some advice if you know something about it. Ths!

I feel excited because everything is ready to go now, begin to count down!

Hello Harris_ma,

Baby Health Centre & Childcare tend to take the view of "let nature take it's course". They will say that maybe the child is not ready just yet, give it a few months and try again when the weather warms up in Spring.

My kids are late developers with toilet training too - wore nappies during the day until they are almost 3 (or over 3).

Also depends on which Childcare you go to. My middle child went to a daycare place at Denistone when he was 3 (thought that he will have more attention as I was busy with the youngest being born etc). The Chinese lady who ran it decided that he was definitely ready and started toilet training him. Unfortunately she scared my child so much that he refused to go to daycare at all!! Luckily the family friend who has been helping me with all 3 kids was able to give him extra time and attention.

Hi Cannasc,

Chatswood is a good suburb. It would not be hard to find all your necessary priorities there. I sometimes will go to Chatswood for lunch and shopping too. (even have to drive for 45 mins to get there!)

I moved here in the month of Feb end and the shipment came in mid May. I rememebered when the shipment came and made delivery to my home, my kids and myself was so happy to have all the "our" things back. Kids missed their every little things!

Even though I am not familiar with these two school in Kingsgrove but i can say is that Catholic school in general are good school with good discipline. For your information, there is a good catholic primary school in Hurstville called "St Mary's Star of the Sea". http://stmss.hurstville.syd.catholic.edu.au/

I have tried to apply for my daughter before but since we are not catholic and our priority were very low, I have somewhere, sometime giving up waiting.....

Thank you very much for your detailed info. So.... I really have to wait.

I'm still in HK with my Indoesian maid, so when Harris is not wearing diapers and weewee everywhere, it's my maid who cleans it up... but later on after Aug., it's ME who have to clean up. Hehee, ok, I can let Harris wearing diapers for more time. Thanks!

The childcare at Denistone? No idea about where it's, most probably I'll have no chance in sending Harris there.

Wow, your three kids are gorgeous~~ And you have to stay home then, right?

wow ... you had been waited for the stuff more than 2 months ... too bad ... hope i could get a good luck, the moving company said that our stuff should be arrived the beginning of may, but need to do the custom clearance. it needs at least 14 days.
