maybe I could respond to you on this. Duck Green is the 'school' version of ORT. The ORT stories lay on the family background. Duck Green is rather new and has less branch stories to make you bankrupt. But stories are also good. Unless you have a lot of spare money, suggest you try ORT first before expanding the 'scope'.
I have stage 3 and 5 and find them quite good but will wait before I invest more. Still a lot of ORT to read -- (9 stages at home NOW!)

my order of ORT books has just arrived. The postage date is 25 Oct and it arrives today. So it takes around 25 days to reach HK by surface mail.

S$35 for 27 packs of things! Average postage is S$1.4 per pack (i.e. HK$7 per pack).

Quite worthy to do so as the price is really much lower even after postage!!

Any one here has bought 標準英語分級讀物 (Early Connections) Stages 3 and 4?

Do the two CDs work? Mine do not; and the CD player shows "UN Disc". Do any of you have CDs that really can be played ? I like the narration. Very good.

And, if I have tapes, where can I pay to copy tape contents into a CD?See HERE about the book pls.

As Gloria said, ORT focused at "Home" whereas Duck Green series focused at "School".

Both of them are very good readers (well-written by stage and attractive stories) for kids. The price of Duck Green series is comparable to (or a little bit cheaper than) that of ORT.

Gerald the giraffe doesn't really have delusions of grandeur. He just wants to dance. But his knees are crooked and his legs are thin, and all the other animals mock him when he approaches the dance floor at the annual Jungle Dance. "Hey, look at clumsy Gerald," they sneer. "Oh, Gerald, you're so weird." Poor Gerald slinks away as the chimps cha-cha, rhinos rock 'n' roll, and warthogs waltz. But an encouraging word from an unlikely source shows this glum giraffe that those who are different "just need a different song," and soon he is prancing and sashaying and boogying to moon music (with a cricket accompanist). In the vein of Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer, Gerald's fickle "friends" quickly decide he's worthy of their attention again.

Comment:

Parents will enjoy sharing this beautiful story at bedtime and take pleasure in boosting their child's confidence. Children at this age are interacting with peers and often experience negative feelings when they observe other children doing things that they themselves cannot. This story brings comfort and confidence to children and encourages them to continue trying.
