I know that most of the private doctors use 2D ultrasound scanning equipment coz it's more common ... of coz this reflects the cost is abit lower la.
For 3D or 4D, you can surely see your bb more clearly and more 立體, but of coz more more expensive,... I just learn that it costs around $1200 per visit and not many doctors in HK got this type of machine... these may be found in doctors whose offices in Central $$$.
I'm starting to think to try one time... at least to have a clear picture of my bb when he/she is living in my tummy...
All,
I just return home from PWH, the doctor referred me to take the 產前運動班 as I can hardly walk (due to the pain here and there), 是由物理治療師教的, 要上2堂. Anyone of you have taken this before?
I just had 2D ultrasound. When I had it in 12 w, it was very small and you can't see it clearly. Now I am 16+4 and it is much clearer. I will have a detail ultrasound in 19 w for detail check up of the fingers, feet, heart, etc.
I think I would go to take a 3D/4D scan in around week 19-21 coz the scan can capture the best of the bb's posture.
I also queue up in a public hospital but it has only 2 times for taking the ultrasound scanning... one in week 20 for the purpose of estimate the EDC and the other will be in week 30 (around)... however, I also book private doctor's appointment and I have seen my bb's fingers, legs, head, heart, backbone, stomach... in week 13 already... very very interesting.
I finally have time to shop for the book "What to expect when you're expecting" you've refer. It is a really good reference. It unlike the Chinese pregnancy books (mainly translated from Japanese or Taiwanese versions) that I bought in HK, this book explains the body change mothly by monthly and everything is in fine detail. This book is indeed very popular in Australia and rank No4 Best Selling Pregnancy book among all others. So, thank you very much for your recommendation.
All mom-to-be, the book is really good ga, please check your nearest bookshop.
I'll also take the ultrasound scan in QE few weeks later, do u know how many times do QE will do this for the pregnancy women?
Another question, is that the doctor will write you the letter for maternity leave when they know better of your delivery date or will give to you when u ask?
