According to baby's development, it can tell from outlook the sex starting 12 week, however, it depends on the position of the baby at the time when you talk the ultrasound. Sometimes, the baby's leg will block the ultrasound for seeing the important part... I heard there is case that the baby hide that part every time the mother took ultrasound. Also, doctors usually said the observation is around 70% or 80% or 90% accurate, they seldom say "100% for sure".

Heehee, I talked to my friend, you are right :-P , 2D captures movement as well. Updated as follows:
- 2D shows the cross-section of the baby, which is 平面的, 動態的
- 3D shows 三維 and 立體的, 但是靜態的
- 4D shows 三維 and 立體的, 而且是動態的, 看見BB即時的活動
For the price, my friend's doctor charges $5XX for 3D/4D. Based on all my "8" info, 3D/4D doctors in Central charges $1200-1500, as my friend's doctor is not in Central (on Kowloon side), the fee is more reasonable. I will go there once for the 3D/4D, let me be the 前線記者 and give you gals more info after my trial.

Let me ask my friend to ask her doctor and I will let you know once I hear from her. As far as I know, the "幫BB檢查, 例如手指,腳指及心臟等器官" depends on the no. of week but not the price, so, if you are after 18 week, i.e. the suitable time for checking baby's structure, that doctor will check these things as well, i.e. included in that $5XX. I have checked with my friend to see whether the fee is the same if I just go there once for the 3D/4D check and I will not have my regular check-ups or delivery with this doctor. My friend asked the doctor about this already, and the doctor said the charge is still same, i.e. he does not mind whether the visit is a regular one or an ad-hoc one. I also discussed with my friend why this doctor's charge is much lower than the other 3D/4D doctors, my guess is (1) this doctor introduced the new machine last year, he only adjusted the charge slightly when switching from the old 2D machine to the new 3D/4D machine; if he raises the charges to $1X00, I think he will scare all his clients; (2) his office is not in TST/Central, so, the charge is more reasonable.

Another reason why currently 3D/4D is so expensive is that not much doctors introduced the 3D/4D machines, and most of the doctors who have already introduced these machines are those doctors in Central and TST, for which these doctors charges $900-1200 already per visit in the past using old 2D machines.
I will go and try in mid May with his doctor (around 30-32 week to see the baby's pretty face), if you could wait, I will report here after my visit.

I also did the "bb器官檢查" structural ultrasond check in 浸會 last year at 18w due to my "water leakage" problem last year, it costed around $900 (I don't remember whether this included the Baptist doctor's fee or just the usage of the machine) as my bill has 6 pages and more than 50 charging items... The check is called "fetal anomaly scan", which measures:
fetal parameters (BPD, FAC, FFL), structures like skull bone, cerebrum, cerebral ventricles, cerebellum, posterior fossa, the 4 chambers of heart, outflow tracts, lung, both kidneys, bladder, spine, anterior abdominal wall, umbillical insertion, limbs, face, etc... (oops... I just typed what was on the report, I don't understand most of the terms ).
Are you going to take this check? Is it suggested by your doctor?

For "bb器官檢查" done around 18w-20w, it does not really need a 3D/4D machine, 2D can also serve the purpose, but it will end up only the doctor understands what is on the screen but not us.
As I don't know how to type Chinese (I used English-to-Chinese translation to translate each Chinese character when I have time ), I need to ask my friend to type it and send the contact info to me via email. Will do it these few days.

廣華's 產前運動班 is free of charge, my friend joined it and she said it is because 廣華 has "Tung Wah" sponsors the lessons. Other HA hospitals charge $100.
I called my friend already. The doctor's name is "曾祥風醫生", actually, there are some other topics in this site discussed about 曾醫生 (you can search for those messages by searching "曾祥風") and all are good comments. His telephone no. is 2377 1228, office in TST (close to Jordon MTR station). For details of the charges and 3D/4D service, please call and double check (please tell the nurse that you want to take the 3D/4D). My friend said you could bring a VHS tape and 曾醫生 will record the ultrasound checking in the tape for you (included in the $5XX charge, no extra cost). If you get more latest info, please share with me here, thanks in advance.
