Dream Snow (Hardcover)
by Eric Carle (Illustrator)

Read this with my son tonight. There is a button on the last page to play a chime melody!! Really one of the good pieces of Eric Carle. Highly recommended for kids below 4 yrs.

Watch out! the snow flakes are removable!!! And there many lovely pages of snow-flake filmsy to hide five animals.

thinking of buying this. but it is for 6+ !!

this set is even more attractive. any one has it? but I have quite some trains at home already. maybe for my hubby.

I'm also thinking about this one.... star price $318.9 not bad wor. If use $30 star coupon, just $288.9!!

The Tomy-brand Thomas (16 pcs of engines only) I bought last year which did not incl. railways, station, bridge etc cost me around $360!!

Lego set :
It is for 6+ mainly becos the Leog bricks are vvv small. Kids younger than 3y might eat the bricks and choke, so the smaller bricks ("creative") series is supposed to be for older kdis who know better than to eat plastic.
Also the fine motor skills of kids below 3y may not be developed enough to be able to cope with fine buildin, ==> there are larger bricks for younger kids.
Need NOT build an exact replica of the house ga. My son tends to build everything and anything, boats, cars and garden from Lego. Which is why Lego is supposed to be creative.
Go to their website for games and building ideas suitable for kids.
I like the house too, but it's quite expensive.
Costs US$39.99 on Lego.com (and everywhere in US), so if $288.90 worthy to buy woh.

Thomas Ultimate set:
Once your kid starts with this, the entire living room will become his playground !! and you will have nowhere to walk, just like us, cos kids will expand the set and their territory ! And the trains are quite noisy.
For your hubby, this set is too low-B. Go to the train shop in YMT near Man Ming Lane for his trains and railway system.
I am sure Kittylock has this set already.
If the Wan Chai toy shop in Tai Yuen Street has this set too, it will be at least $50 cheaper than TRUs.

There is a Tomy Toy Fair in Tsuen Wan (Yue King Sun Sing, don't know the correct Engl for this) from 24 Dec - about 27 Dec, we are going on 24 Dec.

No, I don't have this set .... actually I did not buy Tomy brand for long la.

As you said, the engine while moving is very very noisy... and I really hate that cos the sound makes me feel very tense and uncomfortable!

Hence I prefer to play the wooden series (from Learning Curve) with my son la.

Have lunch with me on Mon and I will take you to the toy shop in Tai Yuen St WC to see whether they have it or not. Surely cheaper than TRUs.
But really, not for your hubby.
Does he know the train shop in YMT ? Just behind the Chin restaurant opposite Chung Wa Bookshop.
Your son will enjoy it. Mine does.

Lego house :
same bricks as Creative series, NOT larger size ga. I bought some bricks (in a cup, misc types) when in SF, but not the entire house.
My son also say X-Pod (Lego series) on Lego.com and said he wants them all.
Doesn't care a thing for my pocket !!

The Thomas pick-up Tomy series is different from the Thomas Tomy train series ga woh.
I also have 2 of the pick-up perpetual runaround sets at home, both from our mutual friend, but my son is not too interested, she bought from TRUs, but WC Tai Yuen St much cheaper.

a lot of PC games suitable for young kids, some violence (eg killing the dinosaurs on Dino Attack, which my son is currently engrossed in) but no porno.

I am also considering to buy it, as a Christmas present for my son. I don't have Star coupons either, all expired :-( :tongue:
