Gloria,

Thank you very much for your recommendation of "shyness". The book has given me a lot of inspiration and has reminded me many things that I should do if I really want to improve my child's shyness.

Would you tell me how your x-cousin in UK send the books to you? By Royal Mail sea-mail?

Did you mention that you have to 清關 in Hong Kong?

My friend's friend resides in UK. But he told me the postage charge is very expensive. I check the Royal Mail tarrif from the internet just now. For any parcels 2Kg, the postage is 70-80 pounds via sea-mail. So, I wonder if there are any cheaper ways to ship to Hong Kong.

No, the books were delivered by sea freight, i.e. using shipping company. Not by sea mail / air mail through Royal Post.
Total cost of getting 6 cartons ~30% of book cost.

And yes, I had to declare customs (not 清關, I think that was done by the shipping company), but had to pay a few $xx to report and record the value and type of goods, data collected by Statistics Dept not Customs / Trade Dept.

And it was only becos my cousin had a warehouse to store everything and staff to help. If for an individual, it is not easy to arrange for 6 cartons to be shipped.

My cousin also warned me that postage / delivery costs would be vvv high, but in the end it came up to ~30% of book costs, which was below my expectations.

If you can wait a while, ....... I mean until there are more good books there..........

Happy to know that you find it useful.
I left office at 2:20am. Just settled now.

I am reading 2 books lately. One is Siu Gou Zin Zin about $$ and another by the japanese author's childhood.
Many books under my office desks. Many many more books at beehive.

Don't worry ah. Bee is also quite shy ga. i think it s a matter of building confidence. Let's keep up our effort to help our kid !
