The chickens and pigs who live together on a farm maintain polite if distant relations-except for two outcasts: Lila, kicked out of the henhouse because of her age, and Albert, discriminated against by his pink brethren because he is white. They become friends, laughing and playing in the daytime, gazing into the heavens at night. On one of their evening vigils, they spot a fox, and their quick thinking and actions save the chickens. Each one becomes a hero, and the reserve between the two groups is broken down. The book I Took My Frog to the Library is a wonderful story. It is intresting because little children love to read about animals and edventures and this book has all. It explains how a little girl named Bridgett takes all different sorts of her pets to the library every day. Her pets make such a disturbance or mess they are asked to leave. She was to come by her self and leave all the animals there. But luckily her pet elephant knows how to read so he reads to the other animals while she is away. If children read this book they will probally be excited about going to the library. It is enjoyable

[size=medium]2. What You Never Knew About Fingers, Forks, & Chopsticks ($30)

I did not realize the history of eating utensils was so interesting. I did become intrigued when I lived in Thailand and learned to eat their way with a fork and spoon or watched Europeans with their forks and knives. I am still not good at eating sticky rice and accompanying dishes with my hand. My favorite situation was watching Thais describe the way Chinese eat with chopsticks. The Thai think that the way Chinese eat is barbaric. Little do they know that most Americans think they eat with chopsticks too!

[size=medium]3. Otto the Cat: A Picture Reader with 24 Flash Cards (All Aboard Reading) ($20)

This book, like all of the picture readers in this series, is good for teaching nouns.
The story deals with a pet cat who tries to rid himself of a pet dog by running in circles, thereby making the dog too dizzy to find his way back home. However, his scheme boomerangs so the dog helps the cat return home.
