Dear GloriaChung,

I prefer Magic Tee House to A-Z Mystery. The books MTH are more well written. Moreover, there are several books called "Research Papers", which is a good way to induce the kids to read non-fictional books. My daughter is a typical girl who loves fictional books. MTH Research Papers are the only ones that she read willingly.

Personally, I don't like Junie B Jones much. Wrong spellings are put in the books on purpose for the main character, Junie, is a kinder or junior primary student. So, if the reader is new to reading chapter books, JB Jones may not be so good. He/she may then 學壞手勢.

That's a good way wow!!

My first microwave has lasted for 10 years. At that time, I did not have maid. However, until my kids were born and in the recent 4 years, I have changed 2 microwaves already. So heavy duty on microwave usage!!

I know but only that I have postponed it again and again for all sort of 'excuses'.

last time I postponed it coz i did not wish to catch the 7am morning flight PLUS staying there for 5 days.

When my son gave birth, I got a new microwave together with the new flat. But my hus and I preferred giving it to my relatives, because it is not good for health and we didn't want the maid always used it ! So, we don't have microwave, I prefer steam the food, but the heat time is much more. :cry:

really... I have bought full set of JBJ. I found it very interesting when I have the first sight at the bookstore. May be I'll read through all of them before passing them to my girl for reading.

My son learns Chinese Kumon at Leighton Road CWB, the teachers are quite experienced. He learns PTH around 5 months, and he likes trying to use PinYin to read the storybook now.
But the fee of Kumon is a little bit expensive.
It just increased to $500 per month.

same as you, we have postponed our trip to KK for 2 times. Tentatively CNY then postpone to Easter and now may be any time between May - July. There's a topic under Outdoor Trip sharing trip to KK, worth to take a look !

GC,

Thank you for your sharing. After quitting all ECAs, he now only has one ECA left – piano. He seems quite interested in playing piano as he always takes the initiative to practice it. As summer is approaching, I will try to expand his ECA progressively. Besides, as he grows older, his shyness is improving but he still needs a period of time to warm up whenever he meets the stranger.

I woke up at 5am and baked a pizza and some cookies this morning. My son brought the cookies to school for party purposed. The pizza was for his breakfast. I put the tomatoes, sausages and the corns on the pizza.
