Do you feel good at Kumon Chinese, i'm thinking to let my son joy to learn 拼音，　but to be honest, i don't really agree Kumon concept. doing and doing worksheet everyday. Just like the machines. But face to the nature, prastise is make perfect. very struggle.

I 'buy' KUMON ga. Chinese is strong in maths coz they practise and practise but the westerners are not coz they don't practise much. Even not bother to sign the 九因歌！ KUMON helps to train the brain. 用得多醒d gwa. I have yet to enrol bee to such courses any way. May be next round of ECA la.

Yes, I used flour and a little bit yeast to raise the dough. Actually, I made the dough with my son on last Sunday, then keep it in the fridge. This is my 2nd DIY pizza la.

I found Kumon Chinese is really systematically and can be for long-term studying, but it is really boring. On the other hand, it is different with Maths, you can jump into any levels when the kid reached the Maths requirement. For Chinese, you must better learning at lower level first !

Besides of Kumon Chinese, I am searching another Cheap Cheap PTH course for my son. I think 2 lessons PTH + Kumon per week are better and acceptable.

Thanks for your praise. I am just a little frog at the bottom of the well if I am compared with you experts here in this forum.

My girl started Magic Tree House when she was near K3 end. I joined the reading programme offered by Kinghorn. At that time, such reading programme was just started to bloom in Hong Kong. I bought a few books and my girl could then listen to the audio recordings in the website provided. So, my girl started her first chapter book in that way. It turned out that she loves reading so much. She then urged me to buy the whole series and the Research papers. Now, she loves reading so much that she can forget all about her homework and duties.

But I think it really depends on the development level of the kid. Like my boy, he is now K3 but still so indulged with his Thomas, Keroro, Berenstain Bears, Biff, Chip, Kipper, etc. He loves me reading MTH to him but not keen to read himself.

I have a lot of chapter books at home. However, it seems that he is not so interested. All he wants is silly things, jokes and non-fictions. Maybe, boys and girls are different in reading tastes.

Regarding the Horrible Harry, I haven't noticed it yet. But I would like to buy Horrid Henry. It seems that it is silly enough for my boy. BTW, is Horrible Harry silly enough too?

Another simpler chapter book series but also nicely written that I can think of is "Nate the Great". They are detective stories and are funny. I bought them in CP when on sale.

Ha, I don't know much about chapter books ga. My knowledge of books advance with bee's age.

I just know that Horrible Harry always appears in those SBC flyers.. which I supposed to mean that they are popular in the US.

Does your girl study in famous school too? You are such a brilliant mom being able to train up your kids for the elite school. I am happy with bee's progress in learninng but a bit worried about his 'stubborness' and self-centredness in acquiring new 'skills'. He always does not agree to follow instructions.

Sometimes I feel quite tired to struggle with his way of doing things and very tired in 'convincing' him to acede to our requests.

Last night, I spent 1 hour during 2-3am to make him wee wee in the middle of his sleep to avoid his wetting the bed. He has wet the bed intermittently over the last week end. Feel very tired with 'negotiating' with him. Do your son have similar problems when being 3-4 yrs old?

Any advice?
