I also like the bauhinia garden. Once I met a mom there and she talked so much with me about K1 interview...bla bla bla.... Thought that she almost wanted to give me her tel no.

You are right. My son has some diarhea. But no other problem. Hope that he has pooped all dirty things. He has been very naughty lately!! Sigh!

Always had bad temper, easy to :-( and whenever he could not get what he wanted, he became troublesome!!

re chicken soup + ginger, how come the Chinese oldies said flu-carriers should not take any chicken related food??? Two contradictory approaches wor. Any idea?

Btw, I found very nice mickey mouse storage boxes (in three diff sizes) at Jusco wor. On sale. With wheels ga. Very nice. I have bought 5 of them. :mrgreen: :mrgreen:

No problem re SaiKung walk, very nice family walk, takes about 35-40min walking, then another 40min back. Or you can take ferry back instead of walking uphill. There is a larger boat (gaai do), or I can get you the tel no to call a dai fei (speedboat). Of course speedboat is more expensive la, the one we know is a licensed one.
Alternatively, you can take the gaai do from Wong Shek Pier to Taap Mun.
We take public transport from home to PakTamAu / Wong Shek Pier (there and back only), van and bus.

Chicken soup + ginger -- my guess
Chinese = starve the bacteria

but in the process the patient is also starved

Western = build up the patient's health so eat good food

You know I love eating and am usually more western ga la.

Jusco storage boxes
Before the MM boxes, there were Jap boxes which looked like house with chimney, in 3 colours green red and yellow - I have 2 at home, IF you come next time I will show you.
Then there were Jap boxes in same colours, but with flat top so you can stack up. Also very nice ga.
These were the type the Japs used in their "bo uk".
After these there were only the MM / Pooh bear storage boxes left.

For your son, if he has diarrhoea (? spelling) so often, maybe he is stuffing all sorts of rubbish in his mouth for their taste, or his food is too oily.
If former you need to

him severely and just give him plain congee everytime. To clean up his digestive system.
If latter you

your maid and put less oil for cooking.
Also get her to wipe the furniture and door and handle etc of your son's room and the whole house more often. Does your son use the ABC squares ? She must wipe these daily with water, then wipe with 1:99 weekly, and wash with hot water & soap or baby detergent once in 2 or 3 weeks !!!

just returned from ST hospital! Dr had he had mild problem only. I have instructed my maid already and she has followed so since the last incident! My son is 受軟唔受硬! Scolding is no use to him!! Coz he knows that he is so much loved (not spoilt in my eyes any way) by us.....

Back on books, where did you get the info. about those country walk info??

Any book on MacLehose Trail will do.
The family walk from PakTamAu to ChekKing is part of it.

The MacLehose Trail and Wilson Trails are some of the goodies left by the Brits. MacLehose liked hiking too, not sure about Wilson. And the Commander of Brit Forces had a weekend villa in a quiet part of SaiKung near Wong Shek Pier.

I recommend this book to kids below 4 years old. Very soothing!! Basically, kids could be prompted to find what the texts say and learn some opposites too.

It is one of the Children's Books of 1989 (Library of Congress) in the US.

We have been reading last night, 2 ORT books and 2 books from "The Best Me I Can Be" series (I am generous! and I can make good choices!).

And doing "book reports" on these for school. Tonight, plan to finish 3 more ORT which I must return on Wed, and as many of the Best Me series.
Piglet still has 8 more days of hols !

Save your breath for better things la.
Even MOF has fans and friends, didn't you notice ?

My son found more new games for kids from Lego.com, and is recently engrossed in "Dino Attack", ==> learnt names of sev dinos from this and from the "How do Dinos ....." books.
He needs extra stimulii in addition to books for boosting his interest in learning.

Back on books, where did you get the info. about those country walk info??

My hubby went hiking since his teens, so no need for books. But you can find good books on HK Trails and Country Parks published by Govt Publications.

I went to the supermarket in FW last night, and bought some salmon roe. Then my maid made Jap hand-rolls as big as the big ice-cream cones in HaagenDaz, and my son ate 2 for lunch, 1 for tea, plus some poppyseed bread dipped in cream of corn soup. No need for dinner, and lots of DHA, Omega3 !!

but my pocket :-( . Costs less than going to Genki though.
I also bought some sour gummy bears, strawberrry gummy, and Old Jamaica Cadbury choco bars !! Yummy!!!

The sour gummy bears became piglet's favourite !
If kids don't eat, I would say its mainly (95%) becos the food provided is NOT tasty enough !!

Not the kid's fault !!

Good night, Bluestar, your boy will be even more clever if taking more omega! I did study nutrition for a while in the past ga. And, most importantly, I have put into practice too!!

On nutrition knowledge, try this book!

Did you want to become a prof dietician ?

I can't type Chin at home cos there is no Chin pinyin software, only a handwriting board which I hated using.

Best Me set doesn't seem to contain books I respect others or I am humble. My son learnt the former from his General Studies already. But there is one I am confident !

We finished 3 ORT books tonight - The Blue Eye, The Kidnappers, The Sun Ship. Wonder why The Sun Ship was one of ORT cos it contains short pieces, cannot even count as poems. No relation with Magic Key / Kipper Biff Chip.
Need to go to pub lib tomorrow.

We also opened the box of Lego house but didn't start, it was too awesome to. Maybe tomorrow night.

My son is sleeping with lots of toys around him. The only animals he like are his plushes, esp the Beanie Baby ones we bought from SF - 6 pluffies from a haberdashery and 8 TY BBs (for US$10) from a garage sale ! Value for money $!

There were soooo many NEW BOOKS around, I think, mainly because of WTO holidays then Christmas hols and ppl didn't go to pub lib but instead went shopping.

I find the A Petits Pas series quite interesting, it's a translation from a popular Fr series of kids books on general knowledge (法國暢銷通識教育童書)，hk$42@。The series is available from TST Harbour City Pg1. :idea:
