really? kids can run on the grass? that is what my son wants, he likes to walk on grass / sand on bare feet gar

what about the wave on the sea? would that makes the boat v wobbly? i also afraid my girl or me get vomit

From what I saw today, the waters from WongShekpier to TaapMun should be quite calm.
But heard from the fisherfolks who operate the many speedboats that the sea is v rough once outside TappMun.

(During winter months, the wind is usually blowing in a NE direction, and that part of the sea off SaiKung eg CheungTsui, TungPingChau is vvv rough.)

If you take the ferry (gaai do) to TaapMun then there is no problem. Size of this is like the ferries you hire for "yau suen hoh" pleasure boat rides in summer.

If you look at the map, WongShek/ChekKing areas is in a cove, sheltered. TaapMun (the side facing WongShekPier) is also sheltered. But from the side facing the ocean (ie on the other side of the island where the grassy slope is) you can see white-head waves. But then you will be on the upper part of the slope, not near the rough sea. Just don't go down the slope that much (quite far from footpath = top of the grassy slope, down to sea level).
The grass = grassy slope, not too steep. Not flat grassy field.

Do you like camping ?

If you do, you will like TaapMun, ChekKing.
If you don't, you will prefer DiscBay.

in that case i will definitely take the "gaai do" la.

camping? no way? :mrgreen: to be honest, i would say i am a "indoor" ppl, but i don't mind to take a easy walk on the country side for some fresh air and the most important is let my son uses & release his energy outdoor

Then bring along baseball caps/hats + sunglasses + suntan lotion + water + backpack, and go on your adventure !!

I am also an indoor person, and when I go on trips I prefer the lazier type of travel by going with a tour.
But I also like easy walks in SaiKung - air is really v fresh, and scenery is fantastic.
As for camping, I prefer the hybrid type - camping near a house, e.g. the old houses in SaiKung villages.

If I can find my old photos of TaapMun, and If I learn to post them, ...........(I still haven't mastered the skill yet

)

Preparing for your country walk ?

Found this morning that piglet already wet his shoes by walking into a stream. (pigs called and woke me up)
Wonder whether it was on purpose or accident, but 80% chance being naughty !

Usually they change into slippers upon arrival. So papa is also to blame this time.

Call me if you want to go to WongShekPier.

96R only operates on Sundays and public holidays. Not even on Saturdays ga.
Bring a digital camera + memory card/stick(s) with lots of space + sufficient battery la, and also a video cam (or a 2-in-1 like we do).

Piglet just called and admitted that he stomped his feet + shoes into the stream on purpose. Stupid pig.

Another reason is, they find me eeoo, and we all need a break from each other before starting a new school term.

If I went with them, I will always be saying :" don't do this, don't do that, stop...." and "wash, cleanup, sit properly......"
Piglet bears with me only for the toy cars and toy shops, D-land and L-land. Also for sushi. Very materialistic pig lai ga.

Piglet had a ride back on the speedboat, right from HamTinWaan to WongShekPier, no need to walk at all. But before getting on the speedboat, he played on the beach and got quite wet, so had to change into dry clothes on WongShekPier.

Either the sand lice or the bed lice had a piglet party last night.
He got bitten - about 50-60 red spots all over, especially on his spare tyre around the waist, and on the fleshy thigh near his wee-wee.
Itchy itchy.
We put on Moth Oil (ngoh shut yau, from Indonesia) already.

Must be his penalty for being naughty.
