Two different series of non-fiction reading for those moms who are looking for such. I have read a few titles and found that they are quite good. But don't know source in hk. watch out for these.

Your maid played tennis and got "tennis elbow" ??

How did she get it ?
Did you know that those big lazy worms in Workman grade usually say they have low back pain / tennis elbow and then produce some letter from doc and are successful in getting paid for not working or get sick leave whenever there is work to do, but could then bei-lo manual work during their sick leave days ?

But getting 4 ppl to clean windows so that she need not do it NOT= she will do her other duties well and be good to your son ga woh. Not an equation.

I thought BHKG kids could enter whatever KG they applied for ? And that most parents who don't send their kids to an Intl school opt for SPCo-ed ?
Couldn't imagine that kids living in vicinity / on HK side would go to Jordan. I know you would say they could move to Kln, but still.

e個世界就係咁ga 啦，什麼都無guarantee ga wor，自己覺得okay就算lor。"No 4 guys" 佢 definitely 會無左一日照顧我地+仔，而要係我在場tennis-elbowedly 做window cleaning (都唔 =100% satisfaction still!). so, i prefer "4 guys" still. Turned out to be very good!

gloria, I happened to see Welcome Books Series & few Rookie Readers in SBC. Haven't you ordered? good pricing from there. 3 Levels of Rookie Readers Box Sets can be found from here

The non-fiction series are usually in library binding edition=very expensive.

I can recall a similar series in Traditional Chinese version hardcover, a Taiwanese publisher, found in Book Fair. Name a few examples: it illustrated the process from an egg to a hen; from seeds to vegetable; from cow to bottle of milk and etc. Pricing-wise, Welcome Books is far more cheaper.

che, my boy used to like Hi5 too. He is kind of switch to cartoons since Playhouse Disney available at home. Have you applied, programmes are pretty good too.

BTW, you've reminded me to collect my Hi5 Album from friend who borrowed it for ages.

The 4 guys are pro, of course good work.

Your maid is also pro - in tun pok.

If you still keep her after this contract, she will cont to "sik ju" you and become Empress Dowager in your house.

"Old" maids who have been working in HK for a while should know and spread out duties, take care of everything in flat, has her own daily / weekly / fortnightly / monthly cycles done in auto gear, otherwise no use. If only sits there like a cube, moves only when kicked, you would be exhausted from the kicking itself.

Not saying that you should be mean to her, give her everything due under her contract; she won't appreciate anything additional but just treat you like a fat water fish. (she is doing this v well ga la)

You are just spoiling her.

my maid tried to tun pok the other day, saying she needed to collect something from a friend in another district?! I asked her to buy something from wet market there and expected her to return within 2 hours.
She said not enough time in return.
Then I asked her to take half day leave eventually, I even need not to pay for transport in such call.
two days after she was fired, cos I found out she stole my boy's mobile (an old model of mine) and passed out.

Usually they do everything to test our limits, agree ?

My maid has a lot of friends in Kln City, within 5 min walking distance. So she sometimes goes down to buy this and that, but returns in half an hour. Still manages to complete all housework, so I keep 1 eye closed.
Yesterday when I came home with piglet, we found her there in front of the PnS supermarket chatting, collected some "gwa tze" for her mum, ==> she said goodbye to her friends, came back with us, no more chatting.
I didn't say anything, just that if she "sik jo" then OK. But for housework she goes on auto gear. And doesn't steal, at least I haven't found that I lost anything. (devout Moslem, v severe penalty for stealing, I hope)

My last Filipino maid, a devout Christian, was so cheap even stole my needles (the sewing needles) and some McD 101 Dalmatian toys so that I couldn't have a complete set !! (becasue there was nothing else more valuable for her to steal)

anther case to share
My sister's maid who was paid for all holidays and got no chance to go out alone. She stole cash $500 banknote every time from my sis and asked another maid to mail it for her to a Tuen Mum address?!
The second maid is a good one but a bit silly, she's curious how come she's got so much cash and told my sister at the end. We found out the mail recipient is her sis who TT the cash back to homeland.

There should be a way to steal when habit is started...

It's very cold today, I better stay at home.

F–K grade 1–2 ---> age 6–7

Rainbow boat's prices for the boxed sets are really good wor subject to the actuall no. of books in each set.

Seems that Set A has 3 books?? Seems that the alphabet A/B/C of the boxed sets has no relation with the reading levels of the Rookie series at all. Set A has books from level E.

so your kid's school also runs sbc? that is good ah ( i save a lot of time with such and get goodies). what is the conversion rate. know that it varies a lot in diff sources.

gloria, my kid's school does have SBC but limits to teachers. I am offered the booklets upon my request. I didn't ask for ordering but I want to... you know some $$ are so temptating and exclusive within school market. Interested to know the rates you've heard, pm please.

one good thing is the school gave away birthday gifts and xmas gifts what are books from SBC.

The research you've done on Rookie Books are mostly available in library binding edition = very expenisve. MOst items are designed for library market (teacher use only). The box sets ABC, I guess, containing 3 books each set. You are right, these sets with no relations to various levels.
