To start with , you can try those at 95 US cents first and those marked with a higher bargain rate. Better check prices across all sources before ordering. SOme are not at good price at all ga.

Which clubs does your sch offer? Is the conversion rate (US$ versus HK$) okay. Heard that range is from US$1= HK$9.x up to some HK$13.xx ga, all schs' offer vary!!....

The Naria book you wanted is not cheap (US$3.95 - not at all a bargain $) ah. So i don't suggest you buy from club. Try other sources instead. :wink: Even amazon price is just US$3.99.
Given the conversion rate, it is dear. Maybe thru Ms Fong, or Rb or pdfield.

Seldom 'witness' the pride of outspoken, provaking and self-claimed 'rightful' consumers. Really make my eyes wide open and at the same time make me laugh from head to toes. Better suggest those bookshops run their business at a loss to please such plp. Wish that we have universal suffrage here to choose a suitable and respectable incumbent.

To ensure that I don't mislead you about the prices of the following sets of good books which you might be interested in, I went to Pg1 in Gateway this afternoon, and CONFIRMED and checked their prices for you :

Alpha Tales : $584.xx per set (26 books plus accessories)
(Rainbowxxxx price = $487)

Word Family Tales : $701.xx per set (25 books plus accessories)

I didn't see Number Tales there today, but from the quoted price of Alpha Tales, I am sure that Number Tales was the same set I saw a few weeks ago, marked at $48x.
(Rainbowxxxx price = $375)

Encyclopedia Prehistorica Dinosaurs: The Definitive Pop-Up (Hardcover) is selling for $26x !
(Rainbowxxxx price = $199)

Armed with this information, I am sure those of you who are interested in buying these sets of good books will know where to buy from, be it Pg1, DaiWoks, AhMaZok, eBuy, Idxx, Rainbowxxx, Paddyxxxxx or whatnot.

Remember, check around first to get the BEST OFFER, ALWAYS. Don't just rely on any single source to offer you a discounted rate which may well be above the original price of another source.

don't buy la.. Go to the library la then you will be very scholastic - like a 'scholar' ga la.

Tongiht I tried a Japanese restaurant at TST called 匠. Very yummy but not expensive. Value for money. Very nice decoration too.

Try with your kid if you have time.

Why not try countrywind or even borrow from friends who have it?

I don't look much the 'lucky' club things ga wor. that's why I have not found any thing mentioned by others. Nowadays, no time to shop the 'clubs' even if getting hold of the flyers la.

two sets for 3 cost only HK$560 after 10% service charge. we had sushi, sashimi, hot pot with 0.5 lobster, beef, vegetable, fruits...and we sit in a japanese kind of room.

so far so good, next step is to choose amongst choices on hand. I hope your kid could enter the one u want.

re your maid,

is she chinese or filo or indo? mine cooks really well. from time to time, she tries to cook filipino style fried shrimps. we love that!

current one is good but she is on leave these days. We have to dine out til next tue. might consider 匠 cos i like japanese food too.

i have been just trying to be reasonable and friendly to others in the first place jar. that's better than putting up fire every where. making friends is better than making enemies.

Re 匠: forgot to tell you that in the outset, they would give you a leaflet attached with a coupon for a free 'sashimi' of 油魽魚 for free (3 slices, super fresh!).

they have coupons to reward 'big water fish' acc. to how much you spend. say HK$300+ a coupon for a free 串燒 in your next patronage, HK$500+ for a lamb chop 串燒 and over HK$700 something more dear and over HK$1000 a free hot pot ...
